Gwen Stefani's making good on her plans to continue creating fun and kid-friendly designs for kids (at affordable prices). The designing mama is launching her Summer Harajuku Mini collection for Target today (all priced between $12 - $20), and the bright, island-inspired designs are pure Gwen. Girls pieces feature bright colors, ruffles, and Summer-clad characters, while the boys' designs are packed with tribal- and safari-themed prints. For the first time, Gwen is venturing into swimwear for tots, adding her trademark designs to one-piece swimsuits for girls and eclectic board shorts for boys, as well as beach bags, sunglasses, and beach towels for the perfect day by the water.

It took me almost a year, but I'd like to think I now have dining out with my 11-month-old down to an art form. High chair, Puffs, and a clean surface are immediate necessities, but there are a handful of items that I now consider my restaurant lifesavers. If you dine out as often as my hubby and I do (usually with a very hungry baby whose desire to eat never ceases to amaze me), consider stocking your diaper bag with the following five items, and believe me, your dining experience will go much more smoothly!

A New Use For Egg Cups

I know it's never too early to think about Spring, Easter and yes...eggs! In this case egg cups for that matter. I saw some wooden ones at Vintage Laundry (help! I visit this place at least once a week and I always go home with adorable goodies!) and instantly I thought...succulents! So, a trip to Tree House (an Austin-based home improvement store that's all about green home making - the shop is amazing and you must visit it soon!) was inevitable, and I came home with these mini-succulents.

Prepared the wooden egg cups . . . oh, like took them out of the bag.

Took the succulents out from their plastic container.

Lovingly tucked them in the egg cups.

And voila! A wonderful display at the bar counter to make me happy when I'm washing dishes. I'm thinking they can be place cards as well, wedding favors? Oh, the possibilities!

8 Ways to Help Your Kids Start the Day Right

Give your kids an early energy boost and brighten their morning moods by making a few small tweaks to your family's a.m. routine. If the morning starts well, chances are that positivity will stay with your kids throughout the day and make a real difference in their attitudes. Wish mornings were more fun than frenzied? Here are eight easy ways to help your kids start the day right:

Cook up an extra satisfying breakfast. Don't let their first meal be a hectic grab-and-go snack that's lacking nutrients. Have your children sit down and take the time to eat, and swap out sugary cereals for healthier, more substantial fare like oatmeal, toast and eggs, a yogurt parfait, or fruit-topped waffles.
Take a quick walk together. Get some feel-good endorphins going early in their day with a short walk or bike ride. You'll sneak in some extra exercise, and they'll be happy to have some outdoor time before heading to their classrooms.
Give them a change of scenery. Typically eat breakfast at the kitchen table or in front of the television? Switch it up by eating outside or in a different room. Try serving them breakfast in bed as a special Friday treat.
Encourage them to do something creative. Help your kids shake their sleepy moods by motivating them to get inspired. Set aside 10 to 20 minutes each morning for your kids to spend drawing, writing, or even dancing to kick-start their creativity.
