Miranda may have one of the most far fetched wardrobes in the Sex and the City movie, mainly because she's a working mother who wears super chunky earrings, but it's fantasy land right? And it's fashion fodder for us. This is more of a Fall look that seriously complements Miranda auburn coloring but without the hefty Charlotte Ronson sweater jacket is Summer ready. In the movie her brown dress is Natalie Eshkenasy, her gold t-straps are Oscar de la Renta and her Faboo patchwork bag is Stuart Weitzman. See, aren't you glad I found a much cheaper way to act the part of Miranda Hobbes?

The Look For Less: Miranda Hobbes

If you've seen the Sex and the City movie, you know that Cynthia Nixon's character, Miranda Hobbes, was leaps and bounds more stylish in the flick than she was in the show. Perhaps age made her fashion-wise or maybe Carrie's flair for style rubbed off on her. Either way, she left behind the pinstripe suits and busted out the chunky earrings, colorful frocks, and stilettos.

Fans will be thrilled to know that back by popular demand is the inexpensive Maggy London dress Miranda wore in one of the first scenes of the movie; she wore it with an Alexander McQueen bag, Gucci pumps and a vintage belt. What's better than Mexico? Why, Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda in Mexico! Now if only they had filmed in Zihuatanejo during my trip. Oh well, next time. It's no surprise that the Fab four brightened the already-colorful background of their hot locale by wearing gorgeous swimsuits and cover-ups. Some of their outfit choices, mainly Samantha's, were too extreme for the average gal, but if you're a part of Sex and the City, you're anything but average. Oh, and if you want to know what they're cracking up about, go see the movie.

By now, (hopefully) the majority of you have seen the Sex and the City movie. Yay! What did you think? BuzzSugar definitely has her opinions.

I Want This Wardrobe: Sex and the City Movie

In case you've been MIA, the whole Sugar gang finally saw the Sex and the City movie. But don't worry, I'm not going to utter a word about the story line. What I am going to open my trap about are the wardrobes of the fabulous foursome, courtesy of Patricia Field. Almost all of Carrie's outfits were dead on and gush worthy, but it was a little strange to see Miranda always dressed up and accessorized. I guess she's grown up and now appreciates fashion! Because I'm Fab, I was instantly able to identify what each character was wearing as soon as I saw it. Not! Let's just say I have friends in high places who were amazing enough to share their wealth of wardrobe knowledge. And what an excessive amount of wealth it is - dive in!

A Few Fab Words With Sex and the City's Cynthia Nixon

OK, so Miranda Hobbes wasn't the most stylish character on Sex and the City, but you can't deny that she got more and more fashionable as the seasons progressed. She was the most improved. Plus, her sarcastic tone was essential to the show. At a recent press junket, actress Cynthia Nixon dished about her favorite on-screen outfits, New York, and her fashion concerns of the flick.

Did you get to keep the clothes?

Yes, I did. I did get to keep the clothes. I got to keep almost everything. You know, I feel like the other women wore a lot of samples and stuff. Miranda is not that quite cutting edge, so they actually purchased a lot of the clothes.

Any favorites?

I have to say the very first outfit that I wear, when the four of us are walking down the street. It's kind of metallic, of course I don’t know who designed it, but I didn’t get to keep that one.

This movie was targeted toward a younger fan base up to an older audience than the original TV show. What is your input on putting out this image of fashion and the big city?

I think we are a very youth oriented culture, particularly in terms of the young market and how people chase that. But I also feel like talking not about men, but just about women and the ideas of their sexuality and being sexually appealing, I think we have greatly extended that recently. So I do think for women my age and older it can really have a positive impact. I worry more about the younger women that believe that somehow because we dress this way in the series and in the movie that somehow they think we’re real and that they should be dressing this way. And that every day, their hair has to be done, they have to be wearing high heels, a different dress every day, and a how ever many thousand dollar handbag. I worry more about the girls who just sort of follow us like a blueprint.

Was it important for you that the show was in NYC?

Yes, of course, when we started doing it we had no idea it would take off like this. I’m usually not very proactive about jobs, I just sort of get offered a few and I take whatever looks best. But when I got this script, I said I have to do whatever I can to maximize my chances of getting in this because it's really interesting, it's about women which is so interesting and unusual, but even more important than either of those two is that it shoots in New York; and there is so little that shoots here. So it's definitely the reason I got teamed up with it in the first place, and of course it would continue to shoot here and that was just an incredible feeling.

Oh My! New Sex and the City Movie Photos

The much-anticipated premiere of the Sex and the City Movie is almost here - 57 days to be exact - so the sassy foursome got all dolled up for some promotional photos. A decade has passed since the series first arrived, but Carrie Bradshaw, Samantha Jones, Charlotte York Goldenblatt, and Miranda Hobbes are all still hot tamales. They may have good genes and Patricia Field to thank for that, but Pat or not, you can't deny these women have the ability to sass up anything they wear. Behold their fashionable pizazz.
