Prada is jumping on the designer-book bandwagon. The Italian house has unveiled a 706-page book, titled Prada, that highlights the house's 30 years of fashion, art, and more. "For Prada, fashion, luxury and style go beyond producing an infinity of clothes and shoes, so the book wants to illustrate the various aspects through which Prada expresses itself," said Patrizio Bertelli, chief executive officer of Prada Group. The tome, which retails for about $150, will hit Prada stores, select bookstores, and Prada.com.

For Spring '10, Miuccia Prada concocted a collection inspired by sea and surf. However, it wasn't your typical beach-inspired line. “Beach and antiquity - high and low - it is all the same,” said Miuccia Prada. “It is supposed to be an ironic take - sometimes nostalgic, for a contemporary take on antiquity for those who don’t understand the beauty of the past.” Well said, Miuccia.

Red-lipped models, complete with tousled ponytails, exuded a youthful innocence as they walked down the runway in a variety of crisp shorts - ranging from knicker-inspired, to long and lean, and even a couple of biker shorts - structured jackets, and embellished tops adorned with palm trees, in some darker hues for the print-challenged. But it was really the crystal-laden pieces that stole the show. These shimmering objects, via dresses and shoes, dazzled with every step. Definitely unique, and with a little modifying, like adding a slip underneath the dress, icons such as Ashley Olsen or Diane Kruger would surely take the bait.

Fab Flash: Prada, Calvin Klein Reveal Celebrity Guests to Costume Institute Gala

As the biggest singular fashion event of the year approaches - The Met's Costume Institute Gala on May 5 - designers have already started to announce which celebrities they are bringing as guests.

Francisco Costa of Calvin Klein revealed that he is dressing Fergie and Liv Tyler - no surprise there, since he's brought Liv to the event the past couple of years. He hinted that Fergie and Liv weren't his only two guests, but wouldn't name any more names.

Meanwhile, Miuccia Prada has invited recent Oscar-winner Tilda Swinton and actress Elizabeth Banks to accompany her.

Remember, this year the Gala's theme is superheroes, so it will be interesting to see how much the attendees play into that. I can't wait!

Miu Miu Dragonfly Clutch: Love It or Hate It?

This Miu Miu Dragonfly Clutch ($1,400) is Fab in more ways than one. The dragonfly is totally rad and the sumptuous multi-tonal pink leather is to die. The python inserts give the clutch that perfect edge and prevents it from looking too cutesy. Are we lovin' this clutch or is it too much for your taste?

Fab Ad: Prada Fall/Winter 2007

Perennial Prada favorite Sasha Pivovarova is joined by newbies Irina Kulikova and Anabela Belikova in this season's ads. All three girls get the pleasure of showcasing the crazy astroturf textures and 60s shag carpet colors which happen to be Miuccia's whims o' the moment. On top of all that, they act the part of some Hitchcockian/Stepford Wive crossbreed, with their winged liquid eyeliner and blank washed-out faces.

Creepy as it may be, I can't help but love all the fringe, furriness, ombre, and creepy stares that come with this collection and these ads. What can I say, Miuccia has a soft spot in my heart.

Fab Ad: Prada, Fall '09

When it comes to ads, we've almost seen it all: beaches, desert sand, wheat fields, sidewalks - you get the picture. But Miuccia Prada has managed to give us something we haven't yet seen for Prada's Fall campaign: models sitting in a puddle of oil. Juxtapositions are common in fashion and this is one of the slickest yet. Here we have delicate models Kendra Spears, Julia Hafstrom, Prada favorite Ymre Stiekema, and Anna de Rijk, in equally delicate gowns, dipping their feet in something not so delicate. Of course, their handy rubber Prada boots make this possible. Such moodiness wouldn't fly for Spring, but for Fall, it's perfect. What do you think - are you as captivated as I am?

As long as the Pre-Fall goodies keep coming, we're going to keep sharing. This time, we have collections from Gucci, Prada, and Miu Miu. I like how Miuccia Prada experimented with texture in both of her collections. The Miu Miu line offered more whimsical pieces while Prada stuck to luxurious sophistication. For Gucci, Frida Giannini stunned me with slick, British intention. I'm in lust with the abundance of turquoise plaid and argyle like this outfit. It's so grungy cool. 2009 Fall Milan Fashion Week: Prada

Every once in a season, a house returns to its roots. Miuccia didn't deliver a high level of experimentation with Fall, but she did deliver some strong outerwear, lovable paillette-induced pieces, and a trend-free austere collection of clothes. Check out the thigh-high Wellies, perfect for a hard day's night. Fabrics were stiff - some brocades and woolies that smell of grandma's house - and leathers were thick and sculptured. Almost everything was cinched with masculine leather skinny belts. However, while things appear so serious, deep-v cuts, short shorts, and bare arms revealed sultry skin. It's always a play of contradictions at Prada.

Fab Ad: Prada Spring/Summer '07

To me, Prada is one of the most iconic fashion brands. Miuccia Prada is a true innovator and has changed the face of Italian fashion. While brands like Gucci, Versace, and Missoni exude sex appeal, Prada made minimalism chic. Always with an underlying utilitarian vibe - she did make the backpack a coveted high fashion accessory - Miuccia is always ahead of the curve.

That said, what do you all think of her Spring/Summer '07 campaign shot by Steven Meisel and featuring model Sasha Pivovarova? Prada was one of the leaders of the headgear trend and she has taken satin and made it a completely wearable fabric. The shadows create a mystique - Sasha looks like she's peering into a far off, exotic land. And the brown oversized fringed handbag plays a big part too, offsetting the sleek, fluid lines of the satin ensemble. While I don't like that Prada always features models that look like mannequins, to me, this fab ad looks like a modern bouquet of exotic flowers.

Fab Ad: Prada Resort '09

Miuccia went all-out glamorous in her '09 Resort campaign and I like it. The ad, shot by Steven Meisel, features dutch model Ymre Stiekema holding on to Prada's embellished bags. I like how her full frontal face shot demands attention. Ymre's black zip jacket makes for the perfect backdrop against the colorful satin bags and I fancy her green bedazzled nails. One would think that so much glitz would overpower a model, but not when it comes to Ymre. Her strong features go perfectly with Prada's dazzling designs. What do you think?
