A new inquiry commissioned by the British Fashion Council is proposing that girls under the age of 16 be banned from catwalks and photoshoots in the United Kingdom - meaning that models hoping to follow Kate Moss, Lily Cole, and Naomi Campbell, who all began modelling at 14 or 15, might have to wait a couple of years.
The Model Health Inquiry report that will be released on Wednesday is not recommending that "size zero" models be banned, but is asking for better health and nutritional advice for models, as well as improvements in ways models can complain about their working conditions. The British Fashion Council has indicated it will accept and implement the recommendations.

Remember when I told you about Victoria's Secret's nationwide casting call? Well, the ballots are in, the top 10 finalists chosen. If you haven't checked out JCrew.com in a while, don't be surprised to see Erin Wasson gracing the front page. I stopped dead in my clicks when I spied the model – who's known for her grungy, tomboy aesthetic – donning the retailer's sleek array of printed tops, tweed blazers, jeweled bib necklaces, and peep-toe sandals. Don't get me wrong, she's an amazing model, but the choice seems a little out of character for both Wasson and J.Crew.

America's Next Top Model just got some more competition. Vogue has teamed up with IMG's fashion and media divisions to produce an online reality modeling show titled Model.Live. Essentially, the show follows three models as they attend casting calls, strut the runways, and run through airports headed to New York, London, Milan, and Paris fashion weeks.

Many models are forming lineups these days — luckily, not for the police, but rather for Fall's hottest ad campaigns. I've been noticing many lineup-style ads lately, and I quite like them because they cut out the frills and bring us face to face with the matter at hand: the creations. That, and the industry's most gorgeous models.
