Best of 2010: Accessories Trend of the Year

It was quite the year for the accessory-obsessed: there were definitely loads of baubles, bags, and footwear to drool over! Any fashionista worth her weight in gold tried at least one of these cool crazes, if not all of them. In 2010, we got schooled by chic backpacks, wrapped up in stylish turbans, and swallowed alive by giant knuckle rings. Our feet were festooned with tough motorcycle boots, and the resurgence of clogs had us jumping for joy. So tell us, what was your fave accessories trend this year?

The Perfect Tough-but-Pretty Motorcycle Boots

We're thrilled to present our favorite Lucky story here on Fab!

Inevitably, with every fall, I have a new boot craving. This year, I've been hoping for a short, flat, black pull-on style that can be worn with leggings and legging jeans - something unfussy, comfortable, and not too butch-looking. And not terribly expensive either. And finally, I think my shoe prayers have been answered.

The Biker Boots, $230, madewell.com

Behold, Madewell's biker boot. It's got a really nice balance between rugged and refined, so it's tough but not to the extent that you look like you just stepped off a Harley every time you wear them. The vents at the top of the shafts add to their femininity somehow, and I like that there's very minimal hardware - just a little antique nickel stud for cinching the ankle strap. The soles are thick but not too thick, and while the toe is round, it's tapered enough to give these boots some sleekness. Plus, they come in at $230, which isn't cheap per se, but will quickly pay off from a cost-per-use perspective given how wearable these things are.

Sarah Michelle Gellar Picks Up Her Prima Ballerina From Dance Class

Sarah Michelle Gellar held her daughter Charlotte's hand as she picked her up from ballet lessons yesterday in LA. The Ringer star sported an Alexander McQueen scarf and a leather jacket as she and Charlotte headed home. Charlotte even took a style cue from mom, adding a pair of black motorcycle boots to her pink leotard and tutu! The duo have been stepping out to do some holiday shopping this month, and Charlotte also recently joined her mom for a day on the set of her CW show. SMG, Charlotte, and Freddie Prinze Jr. are gearing up for a bit of a break over the holiday season with Ringer taking a hiatus from the airwaves until January 31. The series was initially scheduled to return on January 10, but was delayed slightly - along with 90210 - to make room for some of the network's brand-new shows.
