Christina Ricci gives us a lesson on how to be subtly sexy at the the opening of Barneys at The Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino. Her navy silk dress would be conservative if it weren't for that plunging keyhole neck and gold medallion necklace. The rest is simple and sleek, so I threw in a couple items to help complete the look. Does anyone else wish we saw more of Ms. Ricci?! Especially if she's looking this good?

The key to standing out in navy is to play with textures. In a flat silk, navy can look very, well, flat. Navy is regal and stunning in satin, fluid jersey, or flirty pleats. The best part? Reese Witherspoon Trades Her Sexy Premiere Night For a Casual Afternoon

Reese Witherspoon threw on a printed skirt and navy sweater to run errands in Brentwood today. She was out and about following a fun night at the premiere of This Means War yesterday. Reese wore a strapless Miu Miu dress for the occasion and stopped to sign autographs and chat with fans before heading into the screening. Her leading men Tom Hardy and Chris Pine were also on hand as was costar and pal Chelsea Handler. The movie hits select theaters next Tuesday, just in time for Valentine's Day. It'll be Reese's first romantic holiday with her husband, Jim Toth, since the two tied the knot last March. Richard Chai Love Fall 2012

Inspired by the idea of "handsome femininity," Richard Chai showed a Fall collection that was simultaneously simple, yet statement-making. “I didn’t want to do anything that was tricky,” Chai told The New York Times. “I didn’t want to create looks that were just for the show. I wanted it to be approachable and believable, but also be really aspirational. At the end of the day, it’s pieces that I want people to wear.” Chai's boy-meets-girl vision was interpreted into gorgeous slim-fit striped trousers, structured oversized blazers and coats, cozy knits, blanket-stripe coats, and moody florals. The latter was cut into diaphanous sheer skirts, corduroy pants, and jackets, adding a feminine streak to his city-slicker style. Furthermore, his outerwear was something to contend with; Chai's selection of oversized structured jackets and coats were perfectly tailored and ideal for topping off just about any Fall look.

BCBG Runway Fall 2012

An architectural aesthetic, specifically Bauhaus style, rules for BCBG's Fall 2012 collection. Structure manifested itself via colorblocking, but it was done on fluid silk chiffon shift dresses, so the effect was a pretty blend of strong forms on flowy silhouettes. The geometric shapes created by bold color combos - black and orange, merlot and blush - were intensified with textural plays like sheer insets and clever pleating that made dresses look magically fluid and sharp at the same time. To counter the collection's emphasis on lightweight materials like silk and chiffon, it also sent cozy outerwear down the runway - we have mixed emotions on the return of gorilla-armed coats, but the multicolor fur vests and canvas and leather trenches were artful choices for next season. The minimalist approach to geometric forms and bold color combinations, together with the flowy silhouettes, make for clothes that are ideal to wear to a gallery opening.

Trends: Colorblocking, fur, architectural detail, Bauhaus.
Colors: Merlot, blush, camel, cream, navy, coral, teal.
Key Piece: The canvas and leather trench coat; the super-cool pleated dresses with tulle inserts.
Accessories: Open-toe ankle-strap sandals, bags with contrasting textures like snake and suede.
Who Would Wear It: Erin Wasson was in the front row, but the structured, urbane collection seems more suited to Naomi Watts or Thandie Newton.

Fab reader JustPatience inspired us to whip out our favorite pair of sleek shorts - Winter, take heed - for a super chic Fashion Week ensemble. She rocked a cool pair of navy polka-dotted shorts with a crisp white blouse. To take the look up a notch, she added a bejeweled collar necklace and a cream-colored fur jacket. Her suede midcalf boots, oversized red fold-over clutch, and aviator sunglasses were the final touches on this fashionista attire. It's fashion forward, but super comfortable too - exactly what we dress for during our hectic runway-ridden days.

Angelina, Michelle, Zoe, Viola, and More Bring Glamour to the SAG Awards Red Carpet

Award season saw another glamorous night with the Screen Actors Guild Awards in LA this evening. Stars from both the big and small screens brought even more great looks with plenty of ladies stepping out in neutrals. Presenter Zoe Saldana glowed in a white Givenchy Couture gown straight from the Paris runways while Bridesmaids' Kristen Wiig chose a Balenciaga halter. Viola Davis, who won best actress and best picture for The Help, got gorgeous in a strapless Marchesa and her winning costar Octavia Spencer donned Tadashi Shoji. The Good Wife's Julianna Margulies wore a custom beaded Calvin Klein Collection as she arrived on the arm of her husband Keith Lieberthal.

There were a few fun pops of color this evening, including a group that matched the carpet in red. Best actress nominee Michelle Williams looked sweet in a lace Valentino gown and Lanvin clutch and Kyra Sedgwick showed skin in a cutout Pucci that displayed her rib tattoo of her family's initials. Modern Family's Sofia Vergara continued her sexy streak in a strapless pink Marchesa dress and Lorraine Schwartz jewels, which were front and center when she took the stage with her costars to accept the best TV comedy ensemble statue. Emily Blunt got bright in a green Oscar de la Renta next to husband John Krasinski, and The Help's Jessica Chastain went with a bold blue Calvin Klein.

Angelina Jolie led the pack of black looks in a slinky Jenny Packham gown and Ashlee Simpson followed suit in a sequin number by the same designer when she arrived with boyfriend and Boardwalk Empire nominee Vincent Piazza. Emma Stone mixed things up with a short McQueen and 30 Rock's Tina Fey went strapless in Versace. Melissa McCarthy, who was nominated for Bridesmaids, joined the dark-hued dresses in navy Badgley Mischka.
