Trend Alert: Gray Jeans

It's not shocking, it's not new, it's gray jeans. We've been seeing so many blue styles lately, did you forget about the icy cool of the go-with-everything gray jean? I kinda did. To make matters cooler, Bar Refaeli wore a skintight pair with crisp white on top and bold black aviators on toppest. It's pretty swanky, and pretty easy. Fit is imperative here; make sure you try on a few pairs, as lighter-hued jean are less forgiving. But once you find your match, make them your mainstay - you'll be glad you did.

The term "painter's jeans" has got a whole new meaning this season. Big denim brands such as J Brand, Paige Premium Denim, and 7 For All Mankind have been embracing the paint-splattered look on their jean selections. While this is a great DIY project, these brands have taken the time to give their denim a whole new makeover. Although the paint splats are tricky to pull off, I'm totally digging the more subtle paint detail. Would you wear this trend?

Hey Duuuuddde. Hey Dude was one of my favorite Nickelodeon shows in the early '90s. Melody, Brad, Ted, and Danny made rancher life look so cool. Their style was functional yet stylish - bandanas, plaid, polo shirts, denim - and I loved how Melody always wore cute jewelry and hair clips with her cowboy gear. Giddy up!

Paige Lou Lou Tulip Jeans Land Exclusively at Ron Herman

Paige Premium Denim has been working for months on its new style of jean - the Lou Lou Tulip Ankle Flare Jean ($199). It's three parts skinny jean and one part flare, which means the leg is super fitted all the way down through the calf like a skinny and then flared right before the ankle. It's nicknamed the tulip for its upside down take on the flower. Two washes are currently available exclusively at Ron Herman. "Denim trends are constantly evolving. Our mission is to create new classics and the Lou Lou jean is a true original that fits," said designer Paige Adams-Geller. Do you dig it? The '80s are back, and with them zippered jeans. I know, I know, it's trendy, and can be tacky, but look at how Comic-Con empress Emma Stone makes it look cupcake-cute. By pairing her dark blue zippered jeans with an ultra-femme bowed top, she bypassed the retro overtone. It's a perfect blend of tough and tasty.

June. Junio. Giugno. Juin. Juni. There you have it in five languages. "It" being my favorite month - ever. Seriously, it's the beginning of Summer, the sun has come out to play, and I'm feelin' fine. June is also a prime month for me because of the super June sales! Though I usually already have my Summer stock by now, one can always use more tanks, sandals, and swims. Interestingly, this month's musts are all little sparkly things, a couple pairs of pants, and my new baby: my very first non-vintage Bottega! Feels like butta.

Considering the line is all about colored denim, it's fitting that she wore Paige Premium Denim's bright blue skinny jeans. Always one to incorporate a touch of menswear, Nicky tempered her bold bottoms via a black boyfriend blazer. Black peep-toe Christian Louboutins, a baggy white v-neck tee, and silver jewels bring the look to a nice finish.

Paige and OPI Team Up For a Polished Take on Denim

Fab usually gets to cover all the fun designer collaborations, but this one's pretty much made for Bella. Paige Premium Denim and OPI have paired up to create Bright Pair, a collection of Sno-Cone-hued jeans with nail polish to match. "Colored denim will be a huge trend for this summer and I was thrilled to work with the color experts at OPI to create the Bright Pair collection," said Paige Adams-Geller, creator and designer of Paige Premium denim. "We really worked together within our areas of expertise. I picked two great denim styles and Suzi from OPI chose their top six summer shades - all resulting in a young, wearable take on the trend."

Los Angeles ladies are lucky: Head to the launch party this Saturday, and you can meet Adams-Geller and OPI's Suzi Weiss-Fischmann at Ron Herman (8100 Melrose Ave.). The fete, which runs from 2-4 p.m., features complimentary manicures and a free bottle of polish with a Paige jeans purchase.
