This week, Microsoft cofounder Paul Allen revised a lawsuit accusing nearly everyone on the Internet of patent infringement. The lawsuit involves Android, AOL, Facebook, Flickr, Google, eBay, Netflix, and other companies that Allen feels infringed on several of his patents, including "Alerting Users to Items of Current Interest." Allen and his legal team have even begun to call out each company by creating a presentation displaying exactly how each site infringes upon his patented ideas and programs.

New Apple Patent Shows Improved iPhone Camera Plans

Though the introduction of HDR photos in Apple's just-released iOS 4.1 made it much easier to take beautiful photos, the iPhone's camera - even the iPhone 4's camera with flash - is not a suitable replacement for a point-and-shoot camera. This may change soon, though, as Apple has filed patents for an enhanced camera for use on the iPhone and iPod Touch - and perhaps making its way to other Apple devices, too.

Fabworthy: Rebecca Minkoff Virginia Computer Sleeve

I've been on the lookout for a laptop sleeve. I keep discovering new scratches on my Mac and it's time I took good care of it. My search ends today, thanks to this Rebecca Minkoff Virginia Computer Sleeve ($98), which also comes in black and bright orange. I used to think it was impossible to find a highly fashionable computer sleeve that's also functional, but this one is as non-geeky as they get. The patent leather is slick, the bright pink is super fun. Plus, the price isn't half bad either. To get more for my money, I think I'll carry it as an oversize clutch on the weekends.

The patent footwear former Chloe designer Paulo Melim Andersson sent down his Spring runway says a lot about the man - he understands that a shoe can really make an outfit. Besides the irresistible shoe boots, Chloe served up patent sandals with multiple wide straps like the one here. But even on sale, Chloe's footwear takes a big bite out of your paycheck. Luckily, another designer has come out with equally cool but a less pricey option.

The Look For Less: Marni Patent Runway Wedge

Oh, Marni. Why do you have to go and make a collection of incredibly desirable footwear that's out of my reach? This Marni Patent Runway Wedge ($685) is something I can ideally splurge on, but is it really worth paying that much for something I can't possibly wear every day? I think not.
