Rojas Mini Shorts: Love It or Hate It?
I occasionally dabble with plaid, especially in the Summer, but there's something about these Rojas Mini Shorts ($63) that rub me the wrong way. Let's investigate. Unlike Olivia Palermo's cute track-style shorts, these make me think of Richard Simmons busting a move on the gym floor.
Celebrity Style: Liv Tyler
We've seen all the pieces in Liv Tyler's outfit before — plaid tunic, navy cardigan, boots — but somehow she makes them look utterly fresh while leaving a restaurant in LA. First, I like the colors she's working with; the red, white, navy, and black mesh well together. They provide a moody palette that's anything but boring.

Rebecca Bloomwood's plaid ensemble might be one of her tamer choices of the bunch, but it's still oozing with quirky fun. Her Byron Lars plaid dress makes a loud statement on its own, but the stylista took it up a notch by accessorizing with a wide cinched belt, thigh-high socks, and platform pumps by Steve Madden Luxe. Personally, I would nix the socks and just wear the dress with flat boots.
Look of the Day: Anglomania
Truefashionista sure knows how to work the camera. Her enthusiasm for Anglomania is quite infectious. I love how she paired her plaid dress with punky black boots.

It takes a seasoned stylista like Rebecca Bloomwood to pull off this perfectly mismatched ensemble. Underneath her orange plaid Jerold cape lies a complicated yet cunning outfit. On top, Rebecca layered on a purple Danny button-down body suit with a luxurious Vince cashmere sweater.

The latest episode of Gossip Girl was filled with oodles of pretty plaid, but one in particular caught my attention. While most of the Upper East Siders took the preppy route, Serena van der Woodsen's structured Smythe Les Vestes jacket and buckle boots add a polished equestrian aura to her stylish school-girl vibe. A white button-up top, gray tights, and shark tooth necklace complete her outstanding outfit — an A+ in my book!
