Marc Jacobs to Add Plus Sizes to His Label?

Marc Jacobs CEO Robert Duffy recently took to his company Twitter account to announce the possibility of adding a size 18 to the label - the largest size right now is a 16. "I'm a big guy 6'4" 210 lbs. [It's] not easy for me to find clothes. Of course I can have them made. I know how everyone feels. I try to diet but . . . We gotta do larger sizes . . . As soon as I get back to NY. I'm on it! It will take me about a year. But stay with us. Problem solving is a big part of our job," he tweeted. This is definitely a positive proclamation! Lil Community: Plus Size Pregnancy Fashion

Nine months can seem like a lifetime when you're pregnant. LilSugar reader CurleyQ is finding the journey particularly trying as she tries to dress her growing baby bump and is asking the Community for some advice in The Pregnancy Posse group.

I'm having a lot of problems with finding clothes that fit me. I'm so frustrated I could almost cry from it.

Being plus size before I was pregnant never gave me problems with finding clothes that were fashionable and super cute. I've always gotten compliments on how cute I dress for my size. So with that history I'm determined to look cute being plus size and pregnant. But now I'm at a size where "plus size maternity" clothes don't fit me (Yeah...I'm pretty big!). I'm looking at clothes in the largest size I can find (30/32) but they really are not flattering.

I'm torn. I want to look pregnant, but my extra big clothes and my "B" belly really aren't allowing me to look anything but being extra fat. Do I go smaller in my shirts so they are tight to show off my pregnant belly or would it just look like a fat chick wearing too small of clothes? Or, [do I] wear what fits me and I think is cute no matter how baggy or tight, and just be proud of my plus size pregnant belly? My self confidence in dressing cute and fashionable has plummeted. And please be nice about the advice!

For Fall '10, the brand focused on key trends – ranging from military-inspired garb to edgy ballerina pieces - eye candy for all. Army jackets, camo print leggings, and denim have been designed to "compliment curvy bodies" and the proof is in the pudding. Check out ANTM alum, Whitney Thompson, along with another cutie showing off the brand's array of flirty knit tops, skinny jeans, dresses, and even an amazing faux fur vest. Excited? Items start arriving in stores and online on July 1.

Lingerie Ad Causes Plus-Size Controversy

Most of us have seen the commercials with perfect Victoria Secret models telling us to love our bodies. Mixing things up, plus-size retailer Lane Bryant made a TV ad to show off its new lingerie, but ABC and FOX rejected it. The company got angry, pointing out that its spot did not differ from other lingerie ads, except of course when it came to the size of the models and the ampleness of their cleavage.

Lane Bryant took to its blog to point out the double standard, saying:

Fox demanded excessive re-edits and rebuffed it three times before relenting to air it during the final 10 minutes of "American Idol," but only after we threatened to pull the ad buy. Yes, these are the same networks that have scantily-clad housewives so desperate they seduce every man on the block . . .

Word. But something's up now, as Lane Bryant has removed the commercial from YouTube and unpublished its principled blog post. Guess we'll have to tune into Fox to see it after all. How sly!
