Like Liv Tyler's sister and plus-sized model, Mia Tyler (pictured), most girls aren't rail-thin. In fact, many have beautiful, womanly curves! True, models are super-skinny (except for this plus-sized model who walked the Jean Paul Gaultier catwalk for Paris Fashion Week) but they have people commanding them to stop eating, to eat less, to not eat. Nonetheless, in the words of SJP: "Fashion is not a luxury" and we all deserve to wear cute stuff! And so, I put together a list of favorite shopping sites that carry fabulous plus-sized fashions - enjoy!

AgentProvocateur.com - Sexy lingerie is sold in 38D and extra-large.
LaneBryant.com - Fun casual and dressy clothing, and lingerie, for sizes 14-28.
BananaRepublic.com - Order made-to-fit trousers online.
DKNY.com - Most of their city-savvy merchandise comes in size 14.
Gap.com - Pants in sizes 18 and 20 are sold exclusively online.
JCrew.com - A size 16 section on the site features dresses, trousers and swimwear.

Macys.com - How exciting! This is the only site that currently sells O Oscar, Oscar de la Renta's secondary sportswear line, in sizes up to 16.
MichaelKors.com - Michael by Michael Kors items can be found in extra-large.
Torrid.com - Find all the latest trends like leggings in plus sizes.
RalphLauren.com - Lauren by Ralph Lauren carries select items up to size 22.
SaksFifthAvenue.com - Saks has a special web plus-sized section called Salon Z that carries sizes 14 to 24.
VictoriasSecret.com - You can find size 40DD bras, as well as other items in size 16.

Beth Ditto Designs For Plus-Sized Gals

There's no doubt songstress Beth Ditto is proud of her zaftig figure. After being approached by Topshop to perform at its flagship store in London, Ditto struck back stating, “I don’t think it’s fair to put my face somewhere where they would never let me in there to wear their clothes." Her wish is Topshop's command. Word got around to Arcadia, Topshop's parent company, and now the singer is set to design a plus-sized collection for Evans, a company under the Arcadia umbrella. Ditto's offerings, available online on July 9, will include hip styles such as corset dresses and cropped biker jackets. Kudos, another nod to the plus-sized gals!

Fab Body Guide: Forever 21 Creates Plus-Size Line

Let's give Forever 21 a virtual pat on the back. The trendy cheap retailer has created a plus-size line to accommodate its more curvaceous customers. Faith 21 will offer of-the-moment items in a junior plus size, XL, 1X, and 2X.

Starting May 1, the plus-size collection will be available at Forever21.com, along with a few stores (Lakewood Center Mall, Montebello Town Center, Los Cerritos Mall, and Anaheim Plaza). Fret not all you non-Southern Californians; Faith 21 will hopefully launch nationwide soon. "It's normal procedure for us to test in certain markets and then roll out to the entire chain at a later date," said senior marketing manager Linda Chang.

Sneak Peek! Beth Ditto's Plus-Size Evans Collection

You have to wait until Thursday to get your hands on Beth Ditto's plus-size collection, but here's a sneak peek to get you excited. If you recall, the American singer recently partnered with the Topshop-affiliated UK brand, Evans, after she performed at Topshop's flagship store in London. Disco-style sequined tunics, domino-print dresses and tunics, and draped jumpsuits are some of the sassy plus-size offerings. Beth has already been spotted wearing the domino pieces. As models get skinnier, the average American gets larger. According to statistics, 62 percent of females in the US are overweight, so one would think that there would be a huge market for plus-size apparel. However, retailers are hesitant to cater to these customers because of the stigma it still carries. The battle between real-life beauty and ego has marketers in a tricky situation. “When a woman sees herself in the mirror, despite her size, she still thinks Angelina Jolie, not Jennifer Hudson,” said retail consultant Emanuel Weintraub.

It's time to embrace real beauty and give Americans what they want: cute clothes that fit. Plus-size model Emme says it best: "When are retailers and manufacturers going to snap out of being narrow-minded and unable to see the enormous opportunity right under their noses? If they give a customer what she needs, wants and desires, she will be loyal for life.” I second that notion.
