Two of the most influential people in fashion today, Anna Wintour and Balenciaga designer, Nicolas Ghesquière, along with a whole bunch of A-List celebs, gathered at the Metropolitan Museum's Costume Institute to Celebrate Paul Poiret last night. Paul Poiret was a fashion pioneer who freed women of corsetry and adopted shocking colors and exotic references of the Ballets Russes to the haute couture.

With all the flapper-inspired gallimaufry for Fall, drop waist dresses evoke a sense of ease and sophistication - a stellar combination.
