Hip, hip, hooray! Pom poms are here to stay. Sometimes the fuzzy little balls border on kitschy, but in the right place, they're just dreamy. On table cloths, pillowcases, and perhaps around a simple lampshade, the cheery trim can add a bit of punch and a lot of personality. While 60 percent of you hated the black pom pom adorned Diesel pillow, I'm hedging my bets that you'll like some of these feisty finds below.

There are two types of pom-poms. The Summer pom, often found on sandals and scarves, is funky and festive. The Winter pom provides spunk to sweaters and hats. Both allow fun with pom-poms. The pom-pom is an adorable detail that signifies humor and not taking yourself too seriously. Totally fun.

In the midst of all of the end-of-year madness, sometimes it's nice to take a breather. Let's face it: Holidays may mean you take off time from work, but they're no vacation.

To get some true you time, you're taking a weekend escape to a friend's cabin up in Lake Tahoe. I started you off with this Floral Crochet Hat ($28) because it's a cute topper and will keep your head cozy. Be sure to check out all the Winter escape Fab Finds.

Decoration consisting of a ball of tufted wool, silk or other fluffy material; used as a decoration on clothing such as hats and slippers, but can also be found on tops, shoes and handbags. Also, just a fun word to say.

Do you still fantasize about your 15-year-old butt? If things have gone south (literally!) since high school, you can rest assured there's an easier way to reclaim your perky backside than wrestling that old cheerleader uniform out of storage.

So put down your pom-poms, pull on your favorite pair of sneakers, and get ready to defy gravity. These three butt blasters from Hollywood's hottest celebrity trainers will whip your tush into shape faster than you can say, "Go, team, go!"

Trainer: Ashley Borden Notable Client: Natasha Bedingfield

Favorite Move: Put a medium-resistance miniband around the top of your knees. If you don't have a miniband, just be sure to stay focused on the alignment of your knees and ankles throughout this move. Start laying on your back with your hands palms up along your sides, knees bent, looking toward your knees (top). Draw your belly button in. Squeeze your glutes and press hips up into a bridge position where you can see your pubic bone without moving your arms (bottom). Hold for a one-one-thousand second count. Count and bring your body back down to the start position. Repeat 20 times with a medium tempo.

Paper Pom Poms and Gold Branches

Sometimes the easiest and simplest DIY's are your best option when designing or decorating an event. So when my friend Carmela asked me to decorate her soiree for Austin In Style Weddings and Inspiration a day before the event {and only a few days afte my three week Holiday vacation}, I happily obliged. After all, it's as easy as 1, 2, 3...

1. Have a theme. I just asked her what is the feel she would like to have for the little soiree. The adjectives she chose were glamorous and sweet. And although themes can range from time periods, movies, destinations {really, the options are endless}, we went with a color palette. Gold is glamorous and pink is sweet, so gold and pink it was!
2. Use what you already have.All we needed were branches {which we alread have}, gold spray pink, pink gift tissue paper, candles galore and sweets.

It started with a white branch.

Then some gold spray paint. We also spray painted the small shades gold, made pink pom poms and adorned a hurricane with a chevron pattern.

3. Install. Here is my intern Rachel joyfully fluffing the pink poms poms after tying them to a chandelier.

We scattered a few antique mercury candle holders as centerpieces.
