Katie Holmes (and Tom Cruise) supported their friends at the First Annual Essence Black Women in Hollywood luncheon. Yet again, Katie put her best foot forward in purple peep-toe Loubs and an Alexander McQueen dress, sans belt. I think the actress just solidified the purple-accessory craze in Hollywood!

Which Rock a Little, Feed A Lot Attendee Is Most Fab?

There's nothing I like more than seeing Hollywood folk get together for a good cause. Last night in LA at the Rock a Little, Feed A Lot benefit concert, Courteney Cox stayed on trend in a purple long-sleeve minidress; Isla Fisher kept it rad in a leather mini and tie-dye tee; Katherine McPhee was rocker hotness in a vest and booties; Jenna Dewan showed off her metallic bold shoulders; and Christina Applegate posed in an easy, pirate-inspired getup. They all look fresh in their own way; which look do you prefer?

DSquared's Camp Chic: Love It or Hate It?

DSquared always amuses. Their hodgepodge style draws inspiration from some of the most random places. For Spring, the twin bros were inspired by the great outdoors. Camping, to be specific. Last season it was the paparazzi prone PYTs of Hollywood, and I loved the layering and cheeky accessories. There are fashion-loving girls who don't mind the dirt and insects that come with tough terrain, but when did trucker hats get cute again? Adversely, the plaids, cat-eye specs, Band-Aids, glittering bracelets, and bottles, are fabulous touches. The splattered purple dress is rugged chic at its best. Are you feeling it?

2009 Fall Couture: Jean Paul Gaultier

Judging from Jean Paul Gaultier's Fall couture creations, he didn't have a shortage of inspiration. The powerful warrior princess, the chic '20s flapper, the old-Hollywood actress, and the feisty futuristic goddess all had a place on the catwalk . . . and in JPG's eyes, they all prevail. Exquisite gowns set a glamorous tone: some with floor-length capes attached to them, some robe-like, and some chiffon with armor-like bodices. Fur played a big part - fur collars, coats, chubbies, and skirts made appearances. And what's luxury without beading? It showed up in the most unique ways, my favorite being the fine gold beaded overalls Kim Noorda rocked. Color didn't play a big part, but there were random bouts of rich purple, yellow, pink, and brown.

Milan Fashion Week, Spring 2008: Roberto Cavalli

A few feather-clad pieces in this Spring collection were very Roberto Cavalli, but surprisingly, the majority were not. I'm glad to see Cavalli expanding his repertoire to include sweet gals, not just wild things. For the latter, the feather trench coats, vests and pants will satiate their sassy appetite. As for the more demure, they will love all the floral details that Cavalli plastered on his floor-length gowns, pant suits and boho button-down dresses. The color palette of this collection was muted: lilacs, whites, purples, greens, peaches. The only bright hues were from the large floral patterns on the evening gowns.

Old Hollywood glamazons had a place in this collection, too. A few flapper-esque and metallic dresses were seen and very were reminiscent of The Great Gatsby.
