On Our Radar: Revolve Clothing Launches an Online Magazine

I'm a magazine fiend - both paper and online - so I'm stoked Revolve Clothing has launched Revolve Magazine. This means more editorial eye candy for us, yay! Seeing as Revolve and its sister site Forward by Revolve are both snazzy, it's no surprise the magazine is up to par. The photography is particularly enticing. Here's how it's broken down: Trends, Designers, Look Books, and Style Guides. If you like what you see, you can immediately shop the look with a few clicks. Beats checking the "In This Issue" section in the back of paper magazines. Oh, and it's updated a few times a week, so check back.

On Our Radar: Elle Launches New Magazine

Check out Amber Valletta looking hot on the cover of Elle's newly released magazine, Very Elle. The biannual glossy is all about celebrating female icons and is filled with cutting edge fashion photography featuring some of the hottest of-the-moment girls like Chloë Sevigny, Elizabeth Jagger, and Theodora Richards. The next issue is set to be released in October - looking forward to it!

On Our Radar: Glamour Magazine is Tee'd Off

For its second annual "Fashion Gives Back" t-shirt designing project, Glamour Magazine has summoned some of the industry's best talents: Thakoon, Erin Fetherston, Marchesa, Peter Som and Jovovich-Hawk. The tees, which will help raise funds for Malaria No More, will be featured in the October issue. Amanda Peet will model Thakoon's tee, Joy Bryant will wear Erin Fetherston's, Emily Mortimer will be clad in Marchesa's version, Ginnifer Goodwin will wear Peter Som's and Catalina Sandino Moreno will show off Jovovich-Hawk's tee.

A limited-edition run of 500 t-shirts (100 per designer) will be sold on Shopbop for $68. For every t-shirt purchased, the magazine and Malaria No More will donate three mosquito nets to women in Africa.

Aspiring femme models, listen up. V Magazine and Ford Models have joined forces to discover the latest face of fashion, and it can be you. V a Model contest, which discovered Amanda Laine (left) last year, is asking prospective models to submit photos online from now until June. Winning means getting signed with Ford Models; that's huge. Since her win, Amanda has been catapulted into the international spotlight working with greats like Calvin Klein, Alexander McQueen, Miu Miu, and Balenciaga. Good luck ladies and may the best face win.

On Our Radar: New York Look Shuts Down Operation For Now

Yet another change has been made to New York Fashion Week. One of our fashion bibles, New York Look, has announced that it will not publish a Spring issue this year. That means no special Fashion Week coverage in New York, Paris, or Milan. Instead, coverage will appear in the regularly syndicated Fall fashion issue of its parent publication, New York magazine. Whether or not New York Look will produce a Fall issue is still unknown. A spokeswoman for New York magazine states it "will revisit the publishing of the stand-alone Look in the Fall of 2009.” Sigh, another one bites the dust.

On Our Radar: Fashion Gets Mini

There are so many Karl Lagerfeld imitators out there, but in BlackBook Magazine's cheeky feature Isn't It Iconic? the Chanel designer isn't the only one getting mimicked. Viktor & Rolf, Vivienne Westwood, John Galliano, Anna Piaggi, and Carine Roitfeld are also given mini versions of themselves in the latest issue.

They're all so dead-on, it's hard to choose a favorite. I'll go with Kaiser Karl, since achieving his stoic look is a toughie. Which one strikes your fancy?

Fabcons: The Traina Three

Samantha, Victoria, Vanessa. There are more Trainas, but these are The Traina Three. All of them, children of novelist Danielle Steel and vintner John Traina, are under the radar but oh so Fab. Many a fashion junkie who grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area is secretly obsessed with the elusive sisters. They are socialites, yes, but they aren't camera-loving princesses.

All three work in fashion. Samantha, the brunette who resides in LA, serves as fashion editor of C magazine. Her style is feminine with a cool edge. Victoria, with the bangs, worked at the Lacroix atelier last Summer. She has a fondness for hair play and appreciates texture and eclecticism. Vanessa, the tall one, currently works at Vogue Paris; she is the most model-like, wears lots of Paris black, and has a total nonchalant attitude. With friends like Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and Lazaro and Jack of Proenza Schouler, the TTT clearly played in the coolest sandbox in town. It's too bad they all fled San Francisco - we could use some of their chic, forward thinking here.
