Dress Me Up: The Sexy Librarian

I can never tire of the sexy librarian look. Is it the soft long cardigans? Or maybe it's the notion that you don't have to show a lot of skin to look sexy. Whatever it is, this look paired with some high heels, a la Burberry Prorsum's Resort collection, seems to do the trick. Note how soft fabrics and high heels keep you from looking frumpy, and yes, socks are optional!

Trend Alert: Juicy Red Patent Handbags

The differences between a juicy red patent handbag and a super slick black bag are three-fold.

Black is mysterious; red is in-your-face.
Black is sophisticated. Red patent bags can teeter between sophisticated and déclassé. I prefer darker hues; when the red is too bright it's too much.
Black is safe(er). A red patent bag is for the super confident woman. Are you ready for one?

Speaking of confidence. The red metallic Bottega below is beyond patent. I can't decide if it's sophisticated or déclassé. You tell me. Never, have I seen a bolder Bottega.

Shoe Fixation: Red Patent Leather

Red patent-leather is showing up on shoes of all kinds, from platform sandals to pointy-toe heels. Playful, funky, and just a little bit indulgent, these siren-red shoes would look great paired with fall's black tights and gold accents. I just can't help but covet them. Who Wore It Better? Rebecca Minkoff Polka-Dot Blouse

While Rebecca Minkoff was expanding her fashion empire, showing her capsule Spring RTW collection and newest trendy accessories at New York Fashion Week, Lauren Conrad and Michelle Tractenberg dropped by in the same black and white polka-dot blouse - I'm guessing it's from the designer's aforementioned collection. Lauren upped the style ante in cropped leather pants, while Michelle shined via peep-toe patent pumps. Lauren grabbed the turquoise RM clutch, Michelle is a red RM bag/matching red lips kinda gal. Who worked this classic blouse better?

Which Stylin' Cannes Brad Do You Prefer?

Oh, Brad. If there were a male peacock at the Cannes Film Festival, it would be Brad. While we were loving or hating the ladies' red carpet looks, Brad was suiting up in Tom Ford. He worked a pastel suit for the Inglourious Basterds press conference. This reminds me of his stellar wardrobes in the Ocean's movies - so slick. His taupe scarf and brown loafers were fun grandpa-gone-glam touches. Later, he went all-out tux for the red carpet. The tuxedo stripes down the sides of the pants add some shine, a white ascot is quite dapper, and I love black patent leather shoes on men. Both times he donned fresh aviators. I'm dying to know: which stylin' Cannes Brad makes your heart flutter?

I Want This Wardrobe: Gossip Girl, Jenny Humphrey

It might be hard to believe with her stealth sense of style, but Jenny Humprey's a Spring chicken. In fact, she just turned 16 on the latest episode of Gossip Girl. Sadly, Jenny's sweet 16 didn't pan out like she hoped but at least she got a shimmery gold Missoni trapeze dress - gifted from Serena - out of the situation. Leave it to Jenny to add a downtown vibe to her girly frock by styling it with a motorcycle jacket, hoodie, and opaque tights. Red patent peep-toe pumps add sexy while gold and crystal earrings and leather and chain bracelets show off her funky attitude. Go Jenny, it's your birthday . . .

Fab Flash: Sienna and Savannah Miller Expand Twenty8Twelve

It's been a while since Sienna and Savannah Miller's Twenty8Twelve debut. Their collection of subtly tough, slightly sweet menswear-inspired clothes have proven to be a success, so much that the sisters have decided to expand into accessories. This Fall, the label will deliver a 12-piece collection of leather totes, wallets, and clutches. From soft palma leather to glossy leathers embossed with crocodile and elephant textures, the surfaces sound as interesting as the sisters. And the colors? As you can see they too are experimental. The offerings include black and brown crocodile-looking leathers; patent leathers in Oxblood, a burnished red and flag, a rich blue. And of course there's a super-shiny black patent for those fans of the British fashion dark side.

What does the lovely Sienna have to say about the expansion? "I love bags - who doesn't?" And as well as bags, we'll see wide leather belts, leather gloves, and silk scarves by Twenty8Twelve.

Lady in Red: Jaw Dropping Red Shoes

Exclusive Fab Interview With Nicholai by Nicky Hilton!

Let me tell ya, coming to LA Fashion Week, I was not expecting to claim Nicholai by Nicky Hilton as my favorite collection. The naughty equestrian clothes were desirable, but the designer herself was delightful. A supportive big sis Paris showed up backstage and naturally caused a frenzy. Oh, but before approaching Nicky and the photogs, Paris asked to see a mirror to inspect herself in her red Nicholai dress!
When the chaos died down, I chatted with Nicky, who immediately complimented me on my H&M scarf! Despite giving over a dozen interviews, she remained cheerful and sweet. It looks like designing comes pretty naturally to this - ahem - Hilton. As if things couldn't have gotten any better than meeting Nicky and sitting amongst her family during the show, they did. As we were waiting for the valet to bring our car, Nicky drove right past us in boyfriend David Katzenberg's Range Rover, but not before giving us a smile, a wave . . . and a kiss. Aw!

Congrats on another successful collection, Nicky. How do you feel?

I’m excited, I’m relieved, I’m thrilled. Everything went really well and smoothly so I’m very content.

What was your inspiration behind this collection?

The inspiration this season was equestrian, but I wanted to make it a naughty and nice. It was equestrian meets bondage and S&M, hence the latex leggings, patent leather buckles, and the whip. I wanted it to be sophisticated, tasteful, and edgy at the same time.

What is your favorite piece from the collection?

I’m a big jacket person so I think all the jackets - the trenches, the little leather jackets, the patent leather jackets, the blazers.

Did you come across any obstacles this season?

I really had a vision and knew what I wanted this season. I knew the hair I wanted, I knew the makeup. I love the riding hat element. I thought it was very fashion forward. It was very easy this time around.

Who are your style icons?

I love Anna Wintour, but who doesn’t? She has the best closet in America. Cameron Diaz has a really fun, quirky sense of style.

What are your guilty pleasures?

Celebrity Rehab, Cartier, and jewelry.
