I consider myself "a creative," but it simply baffles me how inventive Danny Seo is. He seems to just ooze creativity, always devising original ways to decorate his digs in style without paying a price tag for it. His latest is achievement is a pillow he decorated with safety pins, of all things. He writes:

I stopped by the store to pick up the basic essentials and was looking at a package of 275 mixed gold and silver safety pins. They were on sale for $3 and I thought, could you do something creative with them?

Safety pins aren't traditionally meant to be worn as necklaces, but I say why not have a little bit of fashion fun? These life size Azumi & David Safety Pin Necklaces (call for price info) are super cheeky. They're definitely for someone with a fashion sense of humor. Funny how a simple drawstring can add a touch of sportif to a garment, take this Edun 'Lessing' Drawstring Tank, $95, for example. So simple, yet so sporty! Oh yes, they are supposed to be functional too. But don't you hate it when a drawstring gets all funky and loses its way? Whether the drawstring is halfway through the little fabric tube or completely AWOL here is an easy solution! I learned this one from my crafty mom.

Whoever invented the safety pin was brilliant because this is all you need to salvage your drawstring. Just pierce the pin through one end of the string and guide the pin through the tunnel. Once you have restored it, I suggest tying double knots to prevent future drawstring slippage!

Set in a Rachel Feinstein-designed, storybook-inspired, castle-in-ruins Winter wonderland, Marc Jacobs presented his Fall 2012 collection with more than just a little fashion fanfare. The first word that comes to mind? Hats! And lots of them, all by mastermind milliner Stephen Jones, each one more wonderfully whimsical than the one before. These wild toppers, in addition to the parade of rich, slightly oversized outerwear, giant safety-pin closures, bejeweled square-toed shoes, luxe ostrich-skin handbags, and more, served as a serious testament to Marc's vivid imagination. Set in a Rachel Feinstein-designed storybook-inspired castle-in-ruins Winter wonderland, he presented his Fall '12 lineup with more than just a little fashion fanfare. The first word that comes to mind? Hats! And lots of them, all by mastermind milliner Stephen Jones; each one more wonderfully whimsical than the one before. These wild toppers, in addition to the parade of rich, slightly oversized outerwear, giant safety pin closures, bejeweled square-toed shoes, luxe ostrich-skin handbags, and more, served as a serious testament to Marc's vivid imagination. All flights of fancy aside, though, there were ultra-wearable pieces peeking out from under the more fantastical garb. To this point, we spied cozy layered tweeds in muted tones, shimmery metallic pencil skirts in looser silhouettes, and slick cropped pants sent out in leather, brocade, and jacquard versions. Marc Jacobs's Les Misérables-meets-Dickensian disco-meets Alice in Wonderland Mad Hatter tea party collection certainly highlighted the fact that fashion, at its core, is whatever you make of it . . . and yes, wildly fun.

Trends: rich textiles like brocade and jacquard, floppy hats, oversized outerwear, fur-accented accessories.
Colors: Muted jewel tones - green, purple, ruby red, pink, slate gray, and black.
Key Piece: Slightly oversized coats in luxe fabrics and cropped pants in every texture, from leather to brocade.
Accessories: Fabulously fantastical hats in every color, square-toed shoes with crystallized buckles, long opera-length gloves with finger cutouts, and large boxy totes, some covered in fur, some made in decadent ostrich skin textures.

Audrey, who would have turned 82 this week, was known to use Estée Lauder products, and her signature look featured bold brows, separated lashes, and neutral-toned makeup. So celebrate Audrey's birthday in style by checking out a few of her favorite beauty products:

Safety pins: To create her signature doe-eyed look, her makeup artist, Alberto de Rossi, painstakingly separated each of her mascaraed lashes with a safety pin.
A once-private fragrance: Creed's Spring Flower ($130-$350) was originally made in 1951 specifically for Audrey Hepburn. A fruity floral, the scent became available to the public in 1996 and features notes of peach, melon, and apple at the top, rose and jasmine in the middle, and ambergris and musk at the base.
