A pair of perfect navy blue sailor pants miraculously made their way into my life recently and have inspired me to bring out my inner sailor-ette, full force. The nautical trend has long been a part of fashion history - hello, Jean Paul Gaultier - but these perfect pants make me want to come sail away, and Shopbop's nautical selection is allowing me to do just that. Won't you join me on my proverbial ship by incorporating anchors, stripes (a la 3.1 Phillip Lim's resort line, left), and brass buttons into your closet? Is that an "aye aye Fab" I hear?!

Battle of The Hills Costumes: Madonna vs. Sexy Sailor Girl

Our favorite reality stars, Audrina Patridge and Lauren Conrad from The Hills dressed up for Halloween! Audrina makes a rad Madonna circa the '80s. I love the pearls; now this is the right time to sport leggings. LC went for a sexy sailor look, hat and all. I like how she paired her costume with white over-the-knee tights. Both look cute but only one can go home with the Fab Halloween crown. Whose costume do you love more?

Last week I mentioned I caught a rerun of the Friends episode where Rachel tries to teach Joey how to sail. Joey couldn't handle Rachel's militant teaching methods but just as importantly her little sailing outfit was all cute and Tommy Hilfigered out.

Celeb Style: Rachel Bilson

Lucky Magazine and Madewell's Fall Denim Tour was the place to be last night. Celebs mixed and mingled, all of them looking super cute. But the real standout was mixmaster Rachel Bilson. Up top she wore a The Lady & The Sailor polka dot tank and a black ribbed cardigan, while on bottom she wore a cool black-and-white Myne skirt and combat boots. Her Phillip Lim bow bag softens her up, while the high bun adds further spunk to her funk.

These Delia's Quinn Low-Rise Sailor Flares ($40), are equally crisp and clean. The lightweight fabric is perfect for warm weather and I prefer the navy buttons over the brass anyway.
