I have the perfect bag for you to carry on your hot Valentine's Day date - this Yves Saint Laurent red or orchid Easy Tote ($995 each). I know they don't come cheap, but if you have moolah to spare, they're delectable buys. The orchid color is pretty prim, while the red is sultry sexy. I'm in love with the large Y stamped in the center and the patent sheen. Just be mindful not to pay more attention to the bag than to your date!

Ever since Nordstrom debuted its buy online, pick up in store program, I've been perusing their goods more frequently. One of the beauties I ran into during my hunt was this Botkier Morgan Small Fringed Satchel ($650). I can't buy online and pick up in store because it's currently on pre-sale, but it was special enough to make me stop in my clicks. I have long appreciated fringe but sometimes the trend can get out of hand. This bag shows us that fringe in small doses goes a long way. On your mark, get set, pre-order!

The Marc by Marc Jacobs collection was all about the school girl gone grunge. Loose trapeze-like dresses and combat boots melded with pleated skirts and pretty bouclé coats resulting in mash up of feminine cool tinged with military touches. The main focus were full-skirted dresses made in floral prints, metallic finishes, plaid, velvet, and sheer mesh. Outerwear featured a standout fur collared anorak and plenty of ladylike coats. We were especially smitten with the polished textural coats, nipped in at the waist with leather belts. For accessories, Jacobs highlighted a range of structured satchels, military caps, and punkish lace-up boots. Read more highlights below, then see the complete collection in the slideshow.

J.Crew Fall 2012

J.Crew's packed Fall 2012 presentation showed a bevy of vibrant structured coats, eye-catching knitwear, and a refreshing mix of printed trousers. Almost every look has a sporty twist to it - we especially loved the casual pullovers made in silk floral prints, brushed fleece tops, and what has now become the brand's signature, daytime-appropriate sequins. Other standout pieces included a cozy two-toned tweed coat, leather trimmed jackets, and pajama-inspired pants. For accessories, VP of women's design Tom Mora provided major eye candy in the way of pastel candy-colored Manolo Blahnik pumps, Patricia Underwood hats, sleek snake-print bags, and textured clutches. Diane von Furstenberg Fall 2012

Designers have been sticking to a more neutral palette for Winter but not Diane von Furstenberg and Yvan Mispelaere. Showing to a celebrity-filled crowd at Lincoln Center - we spotted Solange, Molly Sims, Coco Rocha, and Barbara Walters in the crowd - the duo filled the runway with gorgeous color combos in every jewel tone imaginable. The theme of the collection was "rendezvous," further explained in the show notes as "glamorous at a moment's notice." The outcome was sexy, effortless French-inspired dressing in the way of formfitting wool jersey dresses, wrap skirts, office-appropriate separates, and drapey asymmetric jumpsuits. A pink rendition of the latter, paired with an oversized dark burgundy coat, was one of the highlights of the collection. Whimsical prints - puzzle pieces, quotation marks, and keyholes, were splayed across an array of wrap skirts, oversized coats, and blouses, emoting a sense of mysterious quirk. Whether you're a working woman or just looking to paint the town red, DVF has you covered.

Colors: Raspberry, seafoam green, scarlet red, dark teal, black, mustard yellow.

Victoria Beckham Fall 2012

Victoria Beckham's Fall collection can easily be described in one word: strong. The designer offered up her usual sleek, body-conscious dresses, but this time with a decidedly utilitarian touch. The military-chic collection was sexy, without being aggressively so, and was punctuated by belted waists, elbow-length sleeves, and high, collared necklines. Her signature slim-fitting vibe was still there, as were subtle nods to her family - Victoria mused that she "was in the kitchen one day" when son Romeo ran in with his baseball uniform on. "That's what inspired those bright sporty collars on the dresses," she told the Telegraph. Also, the loose beanies "were inspired by the ones David is always wearing," and there was even a handbag named after young daughter Harper.
