I try to be a crafty, DIY type of gal but I have to admit, my heart belongs to the Internet and my trusty laptop. I probably would really enjoy making my own photo scrapbooks if I could just tear myself away from my Flickr account long enough to print some of my pics. But thankfully, Scrapblog has made me realize I shouldn't be ashamed of my Internet addiction, but that I should nurture it.

A Fabby Halloween: Punky Brewster

She was so '80s. She was so cute. She was so my hero. Seriously, she was a couple years older than me and I thought she was the coolest. So much, in fact, that in third grade I asked my teacher to address me as 'Punky.' The fact that I just confessed that somewhat embarrassing bit of personal history shows how much I care (tear).

But back to Punky, the real Punky. She was the most chipper orphan I ever saw - with the most unique fashion sense. Through her adventures with Henry, her pup Brandon, and her pals Cherie and Margaux, Punky spread her Punky Power. We witnessed her blossom into adolescence and boy did she blossom, i.e. Soleil Moon Frye publicly announcing her teenage breast reduction surgery, but I didn't notice. I just enjoyed the declarations like "holy mac-a-noley" and her funky fashions. It's never too late to embrace your inner Punky - do so this Halloween!

Drawing inspiration from Victorian-era scrapbooks and abstract expressionists, Preen's Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi crafted a set of clean, cool silhouettes washed in bold color, florals, and collage-like prints for Fall '12. It's a cool-girl juxtaposition that plays out in this collection - minimalist separates dressed up in textured, overlapping prints and sequins create an almost literal scrapbook effect on dresses and tops. Still, it all works flawlessly - while some collections feel disjointed, there's no sense of losing the theme here or feeling disconnected. There isn't a look that doesn't speak to the overarching palette, structure, or playful printing, giving the whole collection a cohesiveness and effortlessness. Even in botanicals, sequins, flirty lace, and peplum, each piece carries with it an underlying ease - shapes are simple, sporty, even, with drawstrings on pencil skirts and color-contrasted collars and sleeves to counter the intricacies of every embellished cuff or printed silhouette.

Thus, I am a huge proponent of making little steps towards organization. Below are 25 ways to organize your home, your finances, and your life that are quick and easy enough to attempt today. Seriously, start making a dent in your disorganization before it turns into a movie-worthy monster.

Organize Your Stuff

From the fridge to the filing cabinet, here are some ideas for organizing your things.

1. Identify What You Want to Organize

Yes, I am telling you to organize your organizing. Make a specific list of what you want to organize - the bookshelf? Your closet? Your drawers? If you have time, start to formulate a plan. Now, when you have a couple of hours over the weekend, you're ready to attack.

2. Buy Masking Tape and a Marker

Masking tape is a great way to create temporary labels for everything from storage containers in the basement to Tupperware in the freezer. Buy a roll of masking tape and a Sharpie, and always keep them in the same place.

3. Buy Containers and Dividers

If you're planning an organizing project, buy any containers or other organizing tools you need now. Just as with making the list, you're now totally ready to tackle the project when you have a moment.

A Guide to Fall-Friendly Dried Flowers

With all of life's weddings, anniversaries and birthdays, a floral arrangement can carry sentimental value you're just not willing to compost. Instead, dry out your special flowers and turn them into lovely home accents. Dried flowers, although beautifully macabre, don't have to be a dark Halloween centerpiece or potpourri, there are many creative, yet Fall-friendly, ways to transform plant remnants into something everlasting. 4 Ways to Dry Flowers

Air dry - Air drying is the most common and easiest way to dry florals. Tie a small bundle of flowers together with twine or ribbon. For the best results, one bundle should consist of one or similar-size flowers; large flowers work best when dried by each individual stem. Hang the bundle or stem upside down from hooks, rods, hangers, etc., in a well-ventilated area out of direct sunlight. Tip: cutting off the leaves before you hang will expedite the process.

Water dry - It may seem counterproductive, but placing stems in a few inches of water and letting the flower absorb the water will eventually dry the plant to the point of your desired crispiness. This process works especially well with hydrangeas, hybrid delphiniums, and acacia.

Oven dry - I know it sounds weird, but flowers like marigolds and chrysanthemums dry well in well-ventilated convection ovens. Allow the stems to dangle between small slots on a rack, and just be sure to keep the temperature under 100 degrees. The process will take several hours, but keep a careful eye on the oven!

Microwave dry - The most tumultuous of all the techniques, heat those succulents up via your household microwave. Place them on a paper towel (and don't overlap) and nuke them up on medium high for one minute. If the flowers are still moist, change the paper towel, wait 10 minutes, and repeat the process. When cooled, store in a covered container.

Add party planner to the list of mom's responsibilities! Seefree shared her lil one's fifth birthday celebration with us in The Mommy Club group.

I recently threw my 5-year old daughter a Pancakes & Pajamas party, and it was so much fun! (And so easy to do at home and with a budget!) Using scrapbook paper, I created banners, cupcake toppers, water bottle wrappers and food signs. I made a big batch of pancakes the night before the party, then the girls used cookie cutters and lots of toppings to create their own edible masterpieces! Activities included threading necklaces with O-shaped cereal, and decorating paper sacks for pinata candy. The girls were sent home with little baskets of milk and cookies as parting gifts.

BeCouply: A Social Networking App Just For Dating

The Internet can help you find your mate, either on a dating site, through your online social network, or by allowing you to offer a $10,000 award to anyone on the web who will introduce you to your future wife. Once you're paired up though, technology seems to make love more complicated - you must consider the realities of flirtexting (yes, that means flirty texting), navigate the awkward subject of changing your Facebook status, and if you end up changing that status to "married," hope you don't succumb to the fate of 1 in 5 divorced couples who say Facebook played a role in their breakup.

After meeting on OKCupid like many twenty-something couples today, Becky Cruze and MIT-grad Pius Uzamere decided to create a product that would make relationships easier for "couples with epic social lives." So they quit their jobs and started working together full-time on BeCouply, a mobile and web app that will launch in a couple of weeks (you can sign up for an invite). The app is part date idea generator, part online scrapbook. Founder Becky Cruze explained the concept to me:

"You'll have a date idea feed similar to Twitter or the status updates on Facebook with date ideas from other couples in your network. You'll see ideas they're planning or things they've already done. Or, you can enter ideas that you have and see if any of your friends want to join. There will also be suggestions coming in from us at BeCouply, like events going on in your city, concerts, anything related to holidays, or any deals that might be going on."
