Cool Idea: A Rooftop Boating Lake

I love rooftop gardens, but a rooftop lake? With boats and a bar? That's even more incredible. Londoners can see this green-tinted rooftop lake for themselves from July 21 – 24 on the roof of Selfridges London. Event designers Bompas & Parr have transformed over 4,300 square feet of the roof into an island and boating lake, in partnership with Truvia natural sweetener. Behind the Seams: Elizabeth and James Launch Party at Selfridges

London got a little more stylish last night when Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen showed up to launch their clothing line overseas. Elizabeth and James is going to be sold at Selfridges - I'm sure that excites many a British girl, including our own FabSugar UK. Among the locals who helped the twins celebrate were Henry Holland, Alexa Chung, Pixie Geldof, and Daria Zhukova, designer of Kova&T. Clothes were shown, pictures were taken, a merry time was had by all.

Patricia Field's latest project has nothing to do with clothes. Instead, the stylist has lent her creativity to the limited-edition diet Coke City Collection bottles, sold exclusively at Selfridges. "The designs represent diet Coke as a sexy, sassy brand perfectly compatible with today's woman," Pat said. I'd love to get my hands on one. Would you?

Crave Worthy: Deborah Bowness Wallpapers

I first saw Deborah Bowness's wallpapers for sale a few years ago. It was just a poster version of one of her wallpapers, but regardless, I've been craving them ever since. Bowness has been designing and hand-printing wallpapers for seven years. Her collection includes several series of ready-made digitally and hand-printed wallpapers with trompe l'oeil effects that can reinvent a home or business with just one roll. Many of the wallpapers are printed with technicolor-like images of floor lamps, filing cabinets, Louis XIV style chairs, or other furnishings you might normally see in a home.

They're a clever solution for small quarters dwellers without much room for additional furniture, but they would make a statement in any sized pad. Her pastel colored papers are very girly, which I love, but she also a black and white faux bookshelf wallpaper which would be a perfect fit for man's office. Bowness is also available for commissions, which she designs specifically to suit the needs of any interior, and has exhibited her work in museums and shows throughout the UK. Some of her noted clients include the Soho House , Reebok, Paul Smith, Selfridges, and Philippe Starck. Bowness was also a winner of the ICFF editors award for best wall coverings in 2007. Stella McCartney Is Coming Out With a New Fragrance

"It comes from my dad's nickname for my mum: 'Linda I love you,'" explained designer Stella McCartney of her forthcoming scent, dubbed L.I.L.Y. ($25 to $100). And if that isn't enough to leave you all teary-eyed, the perfume's moniker also pays tribute to the flower lily of the valley, a favorite of Stella's mother, Linda McCartney. But there's a darker, more masculine side to the perfume, as well, with truffle extract at the top and oak moss at the base. "You can't grow moss - you can't plant it unless it wants to grow," Stella said, adding, "I find that quite sexy and sinister, to contrast with the lily of the valley." Guys sporting makeup is no new phenomena, and many brands are happy to oblige with cleverly named, dude-centric products. From manscara to male polish to guyliner, there's a beauty product out there for any chap who so desires to enhance his beauty. Add to the list now guylashes, aka false eyelashes designed for guys' eyes, such as Eylure's Natural Lashes For Men (about $8). "We first noticed this increased interest in male eye-grooming when the new Blink bar was bombarded by men," David Walker-Smith of Selfridges told told the Daily Mail. Whether or not the trend sticks around (heh, get it?) remains to be seen, but what say you on the guylash craze?

Rachel Zoe and Rodger Berman Enjoy a Whirlwind Few Days of London Fashion

Rachel Zoe has had a busy few days of stylish fun during London Fashion Week. She flew across the pond with husband Rodger Berman after debuting her Rachel Zoe Collection in New York. First up was a promotional appearance for her line at Selfridges with Rodger by her side. Rachel shared a photo of Rodger, and wrote, "How handsome is my husband?" She was also among the ladies who checked out Matthew Williamson's show yesterday, and then she swung by a Tom Ford-hosted event. Even Rodger was impressed by Tom's latest offerings, tweeting, "Literally blown away by Tom Ford presentation." They wrapped up the night with socialite Dasha Zhukova at an art event held inside the Gagosian Gallery, and Rachel was out again today to see Burberry. Rachel's enjoying a stay in London, including a chic tea service on Paul Smith china, before moving on to see what Paris has to offer.

Leigh Lezark to Collaborate With H&M

H&M's next collaboration isn't with a big-time designer. It's with a relatively under-the-radar personality: cool girl, model, and the Misshapes DJ Leigh Lezark. It's a smaller-scale collab that will be limited to England; Leigh and H&M are creating its first-ever store-within-in-a-store at Selfridges in London, set to open Aug. 25. Leigh will also curate an exclusive collection of her favorite clothing and accessories for the store. "My philosophy on both beauty and fashion is to be yourself and find your own style, so for me, the new edited-down H&M at Selfridges is an ideal shopping destination," said Lezark. "The curated pieces are, I feel, modern classics everyone should have in their wardrobe - and I have tried to throw in some color, too!" Sadly, the curated collection is solely for the UK, but we'll keep our eyes peeled for photos when the store debuts.
