If you've wanted to shop vintage, but have always been unsure how to go about it, consider this book your saving grace. Vintage Fashion: Collecting and Wearing Designer Classics, 1900–1990 ($27) highlights a decade per chapter, going through key designers, signature looks, and important colors, all with plenty of pictures to illustrate.
It also has a shopping guide that offers tips on where to buy vintage and how to care for it, as well as listing the century's most collectible and important designers.
