It's hard keeping up with trends; nevertheless, it's an obsession of mine. While I bring you daily trend alerts, there were several trends that kept our attention throughout the year. Some tempered volume - shoulder love and the new crop of pants - these trends are for the more daring fashion darling. Meanwhile, the It bag gave way to the It shoe. Designers showcased over-the-top shoes on the Spring and Fall runways - to many a model's demise. We bought more clutches this year than ever before (oops). Countless celebrities shined thanks to statement necklaces and florals bloomed like crazy. We know which trend we hope lives on, what about you?

The trends for Fall are starting to reveal themselves and one thing is for sure: It's all about sleeves. Drama has taken form on the arms, where designers are offering cropped, voluminous, lantern, folded and everything in between. Some of these are fun for day and some, like the intricate ones at Marchesa (left), are ideal for night. Day and night, night and day, it's all about sleeves!

Sheer sleeves will surely keep you motivated to work out this Fall. In fact, I can't think of a better way to show off those hard earned toned biceps. Daring slim sleeve cuts, like this racy Derek Lam Zip Front Dress ($1,650), emote a more '80s vibe while billowy romantic sleeves, like the one January Jones recently wore allude a more modern aura. Take your pick . . .

Fabworthy: Rebecca Minkoff Virginia Computer Sleeve

I've been on the lookout for a laptop sleeve. I keep discovering new scratches on my Mac and it's time I took good care of it. My search ends today, thanks to this Rebecca Minkoff Virginia Computer Sleeve ($98), which also comes in black and bright orange. I used to think it was impossible to find a highly fashionable computer sleeve that's also functional, but this one is as non-geeky as they get. The patent leather is slick, the bright pink is super fun. Plus, the price isn't half bad either. To get more for my money, I think I'll carry it as an oversize clutch on the weekends.

Pussycat Dolls cutie Melody Thornton made a solo appearance on the red carpet tonight looking on-trend in an embellished cream long sleeve minidress and studded booties. Check out the decadent silver and gold detailing on her frock - so rad. For jewels, the songstress decked herself out in diamond studs and mixed metal rings. Are you liking her look?

I have this habit lately, I can't shake it. I've been rolling up the sleeves of every shirt I wear. It just so happens the nonchalant rolled sleeve style is in vogue, but for me, one who sits at a computer all day, it's purely functional - I swear! No, I jest - it's totally cute. If you feel me, consider a rolled-sleeve cardi. The cardigan is another at-work style buddy, so it's double the function, double the fun.

Trend Alert: Bell Sleeves

If romance were a sleeve it would be a bell sleeve. Katie Holmes' floral Missoni tunic may be lovely, but what really conjures up the smell of roses is her slouchy bell sleeve cardi. If you're hesitant to play with volume, this is a beginner lesson. Bell sleeves come is all structures and configurations, choose one that's definitively you.
