Last night after my relaxing hair cut (I love it, thanks for asking!), my pup and I cozied up on the couch and watched the Olympics opening ceremony. Did you? I multitasked and caught up on my gossip mags while watching, but I waited to see Team USA in their Ralph Lauren designed outfits.The whopping 650 American athletes looked dapper in navy blazers emblazoned with oversized Polo ponies, off-white trousers, broadcloth shirts, white twill newsboy caps and striped silk neckwear; men wore ties and the women wore scarves.

Good news for all of you Mary-Kate and Ashley fashion fans! Now that they have the luxury market covered with The Row, Mary-Kate and Ashley have announced the launch of a new contemporary sportswear line, Elizabeth and James, coming out this Fall.
The line is named after their siblings and will include blazers, washed leather jackets, military-inspired tops, shrunken tees, oversize tees, pencil skirts, cashmere sweaters, fur jackets, and cashmere coats, all playing with a masculine/feminine theme.

After a failed attempt with her contemporary collection back in 2001, famous handbag designer Rebecca Minkoff is back at it again. With the help of Los Angeles-based celebrity stylist Ilaria Urbinati, Minkoff is determined to get it right with her new sportswear collection. “I was a one-woman show and I couldn’t handle it all myself,” said Minkoff.

When I think of Alpinestars, I envision a motorcycle helmet with the brand's star-clad sticker on it. The Italian clothing brand that outfits race car drivers and motorcyclists is entering the women's US sportswear business for Fall. But don't worry, there isn't a butch piece in sight.

Banana Republic is giving me something to look forward to come Spring. Honing in its love for polished sportswear, the retailer sent models down the runway in a fresh collection of denim, chambray shirts, silk tops, moto jackets, refined shorts, classic trenches, and slick chinos. "We’re still a work brand, but we want to have great weekend and going-out clothes, too," said Banana Republic's president, Jack Calhoun.
