Lanvin's Spring 2012 Video Ad Features Snakes at a Party

Lanvin created a Garden-of-Eden-inspired dinner party to feature their Spring 2012 collection, set to the beat of 18-year-old music artist Maxine Ashley's latest single, "Cookieman." The video, shot by Steven Meisel, has a similar energy and quirkiness as their Fall 2011 video, which featured Raquel Zimmermann and Karen Elson dancing in a house. That video went viral and spawned a fun fashion week version. This time, it's rising star model Aymeline Valade who looks ultra glamorous while draped in Lanvin's gorgeous dresses, as well as snakes - both real and in jeweled form. Prada Spring 2011 was one of the most dynamic collections of the season, so we were quite excited to see how the brand would showcase the collection. The vivid stripes and prints are on full display in the print ad photographed by Steven Meisel, but they come alive in the video, which features models like Arizona Muse and Mariacarla Boscono getting their groove on to "Mirando" by Ratatat. 2010 was no small year for Puerto Rican model Joan Smalls. The woman known for her endless legs, powerful stare, and personal charm has walked the runway of every major fashion designer, including opening the Jason Wu and YSL Spring 2011 shows. Mario Testino, Steven Meisel, Patrick Demarchelier, and David Sims have all shot her in editorials. She appeared in Gucci's Pre-Fall 2010 ad campaign and just recently signed on to be the new face of Estée Lauder. Phew. And it goes without saying that she's completely stunning. It's no secret we've fallen truly, madly, deeply for Mulberry. To add even more fuel to the fire, the brand just came out with its Fall '10 campaign - check out the awesome behind-the-scenes video. The opulent fun features Abbey Lee Kershaw and Hanne Gaby Odiele jumping up and down on a bed and eating decadent desserts all while wearing glamorous head-to-toe Mulberry - color us jealous. Photographer Steven Meisel did a beautiful job capturing the fun and Mulberry's captivating selection of handbags and ready-to-wear. You don't want to know the despicable things we would do for that Loopy leopard print Alexa bag . . .

Fab Ad: Louis Vuitton, Fall '10

If you thought Lara Stone's Spring Louis Vuitton ads were dreamy, wake up. The brand chose a precision cast of models, spanning generations, for its latest campaign. Christy Turlington, Karen Elson, and Natalia Vodianova are calmly coiffing in an old-school dressing room, each one thoroughly gorgeous in prim ponies, ladylike dresses, and luxe leather. The mood is serene and stylish and, notice, ample bosom plays a supporting role. According to Antoine Arnault, Vuitton’s director of communications, "The atmosphere was very Fifties, very elegant." Shot by Steven Meisel, the period set was constructed in a New York studio. Simple, yet stunning. Agreed?

Fab Ad: Alberta Ferretti, Spring '10

Alberta Ferretti's latest ad campaign takes me back to my childhood, when I would frolic in my fairy outfit and colorful braided headband. Only now it's Hanne Gaby Odiele, Kasia Struss, Constance Jablonski, and Dorothea Barth Jörgensen having the fun, and the clothes are way chicer. I love everything about these Steven Meisel shots - the fluid movements, the romantically beautiful dresses, the serene colors. If only I could transport myself to Alberta's fairyland! What do you think?

Fab Ad: Prada, Spring '10

I always expect Spring ads to lighten the mood, wipe the palate clean, rev up my fashion engine. Prada's Spring images do just that. Not only was the beachy-chic collection stellar, but the house chose a fresh face to represent: Lithuanian model Rasa Zukauskaite. Snapped by Steven Meisel, the white backdrop allows the ghostly floral prints, covetable handbags, coquette pigtails, acid green shades, and juicy-red lips to do their thing. Another winner in my book.

Fab Ad: Balenciaga, Spring '10

Balenciaga's Spring '10 ad campaign couldn't be any more different than its previous. For one, Fall '09 featured actress Jennifer Connelly. This one features models Iselin Steiro and Mirte Maas, shot by Steven Meisel. I guess it's out with the old and in with the new at the house of Balenciaga! I'm digging all the vivacious colors from the Spring collection; the only problem I have is that gargantuan horizontal model in the back. Artistic, perhaps, but kinda distracting. What do you think?
