This Week's Fab Favorite: Alexis Bledel

Here are some fun facts about Alexis we didn't know: her first language is Spanish, she is 5'7" (doesn't she look petite, though?), and her favorite band is Radiohead. Considering the fact that she looked smashing in a Mischen dress, Alaia heels, and a cool gold clutch at the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 premiere, atop those other fun facts, Alexis is bonafide Fab. I always thought she was adorable on Gilmore Girls - those blue eyes are amazing - but she just went up a few notches.

I like that even with a highly detailed dress she opted for eclectic accessories. The one shoulder and structure of the dress make it a stand out. You can't beat Alaia shoes - favored by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen - and her criss-cross heels are slightly naughty, totally funky. The gold clutch is futuristic looking and her diamond studs are perfection. Pulling back her hair was a good call and bright pink lips are always scrumptious. Cute, cute and more c-ute.

New York Fashion Week, Spring 2008: Oscar de la Renta

This collection was a bit of traditional Oscar de la Renta - with poofy, dramatic dresses and full-of-sheen separates - fused with a more modern, androgynous Oscar. There's no doubt that the designer stuck with the overarching Spring theme of femininity, but he stayed away from flowy and went the structure route.

There were dramatic necklines, long red carpet gowns, bows, ruffles, floral patterns, pleats, metallics, pantsuits, shift dresses, skirt suits with cropped jackets, tuxedo-style frocks, bubble silhouettes and lantern sleeves. Whew! There's was a lot of everything.

It's obvious that Oscar tried to appeal to many types of women: the minimalist, the flamboyant and the eccentric. Many tribal-inspired dresses in black, brown and white were shown - for those who like to explore the wild side of fashion.

Fall Glimpse: Structured Bags

Handbags have taken a turn and are all grown up for Fall. Start saving up to invest in a seriously grown up carry all made of luxurious materials and architectural detailing. Trend Alert: Fitted Parkas

I usually associate parkas with Starter jackets and football games - not anymore. The new wave of fitted parkas are designed with the city girl in mind. This year's crop boasts glossy finishes and slim shapes. While parkas of the past were bulky, these new cuts flatter your shape. I prefer mine girly like this Juicy Couture Puff Coat ($448). The glossy finish and embellished trim is sure to keep me looking chic in the cold weather. Are you ready to put some puff in your coat?

I Love Your ShopStyle: The Power of Red

CherryLady's architecturally appealing ensemble is all about confidence. I love how she exemplified the power of red by incorporating a draped skirt with an eccentric red houndstooth top by Alexander McQueen. The gray and red color combo is ideal for Fall, and notice how she contrasted the structural theme with a girly red bow. Let's not forget those Giuseppe Zanotti metal cap-toe booties - I'm dead.

Look of the Day: Structured to Perfection

As far as I'm concerned, turquoisepassion is structured to perfection. It's mainly her fitted blazer that gives that illusion. So as not to be too stiff, she wore a flippy mini on bottom. Good thinking. The studded belt adds some metallic, while her statement necklace lends a gothic edge.

Unfortunately she didn't give us the details of her outfit, so come back and fill us in.

Anzevino & Florence Quilted Nylon Jacket: Love It or Hate It?

There's no doubt fitted parkas have made a comeback this season with a plethora of new cuts and colors. With that said, this Anzevino & Florence Quilted Nylon Jacket ($312) shows creativity, but I find it a bit strange. The subtle sheen is nice, but I'm iffy on the avant-garde shape. Thoughts?

Look of the Day: Thinking Outside the Drape

Draped tops are often associated with fanciness, but Stylistress opted to wear hers with denim cutoffs. Thinking outside the drape, I like it. The juxtaposition between the flowy, feminine top and the structured shorts and wicked boots is hot. Right?!
