You knew this was coming - I can't resist Lauren's laid-back chic sometimes. She's a bona fide girl about town promoting her Mark cosmetics gig, and then appearing on The Late Show With David Letterman last night. She pulled a Carrie Bradshaw wearing a studded belt with both of these looks. For David, she was tailored and tough in Alice + Olivia navy wide-leg trousers and Mike & Chris cropped leather jacket - no LC outfit is complete without a Chanel bag. For Mark, she wore a skirt from Whitney Port's clothing line, said studded belt and a Fab Yaya Aflalo polka-dot tank. Which look do you like better?

Thanks to the Sex and the City movie, studded belts are popping up left and right. For a friend's baby shower, sydnei took an old dress, old belt, put it together, and instantly channeled Carrie Bradshaw. Sexy in the city!

I can't believe my eyes I'm seeing that Carrie's Studded Belt ($120) is currently on pre-sale at Patricia Field Online. Throughout the entire Sex and the City film, my eyes followed that studded belt more than the actual storyline. While Miranda's wardrobe was a bit over-dramatized, I loved how realistic they made Carrie's. She wore the vintage studded belt in multiple scenes; this was because SJP loved it so much and it actually took on a name: Roger. You have to wait until mid-July if you want it for $120. If you're willing to dish out $250, get one now!

Recycling fabric is a powerful green living and cost saving strategy. Denim is one of the coolest fabrics to do it with. It's sturdy, gains character with age and can be acquired very inexpensively at yard sales or in your own "old clothes" closet. Some of the coolest ideas I've found?

Pot holders. In my opinion, these look far better out of used denim than the new stuff. And you can incorporate your own style via choice of trim or a patch stitched to the outside. Here's a link to some tips for making your own.
Cool quilts. You can do this in many forms. Different shades of denim patchwork options abound and are certainly sturdy and fun. Unfortunately, one of the coolest ideas I've ever seen I've been unable to find pictures of. It was done with pieced denim, but they had left on all the details like pockets, buttons, belt loops, etc. It made for a really fabulous unique quilt with a lot of attitude. If anyone has a link to a picture of one of these, please post below in the comments section.

Matthew McConaughey got into character on the set of Magic Mike in LA yesterday. He wore a tight tie-dye shirt, washed out jeans, and a studded belt for the scene after his costars Channing Tatum and Alex Pettyfer, got shirtless to film the stripper movie last week. MM's back to work following a fun weekend on the West Coast, where he and Camila Alves attended the premiere of Cirque du Soleil's Iris alongside Cindy Crawford, Christina Hendricks, and others. MM and Camila's adorable kids, Levi and Vida, didn't join them for the show but they were along for a family getaway earlier this month.

Millions of fans tuned in last night for American Idol's two-hour, star-studded season finale. Ryan Seacrest was decked out in a tux to take in the powerful performances, later announcing 17-year-old Scotty McCreery as this year's champion - do you agree with the season 10 American Idol winner? The top 13 contestants returned to sing and dance throughout the show, as did Beyoncé Knowles, Lady Gaga, and even Idol judge Steven Tyler. Carrie Underwood arrived in a Lorena Sarbu dress then joined finalist Lauren Alaina for a duet of "Before He Cheats," and Scotty teamed up with country legend Tim McGraw on "Live Like You Were Dying." Beyonce took the stage twice, first doing a medley of her own hits like "Crazy in Love" with contestants and then a solo of her new single "One Plus One." Marc Anthony got the crowd on their feet with a Latin beat as Jennifer Lopez shook it in a hot fringed costume.
