Desert boots and booties are among the season's best - and I've been craving a pair to start off Fall. So, when I spied these supple suede Pedro Garcia Dorice Booties ($198, originally $495), I thought the search was over. With a walkable low heel and lace-up look I love, I was ready to hit the register, till the pricey tag caught my attention . . .

Emilio Pucci Open Toe High Heel Bootie: Love It or Hate It?

With Fall comes one of my favorite types of footwear - booties. As I perused, I came across these Emilio Pucci Open Toe High Heel Booties ($835). The sexy cutout heel cap caught my attention and I love the snazzy signature print footbed. However, it's a bit too '80s and I'm not so sure about the purple zipper. What do you think?

How Would YOU Wear It? Kate Beckinsale

I know I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but it still confuses me when people wear tights in hot weather. Exhibit A: Kate Beckinsale while Halloween shopping. This all-black look may have worked in the evening but it certainly doesn't fly on a sunny day in LA.

If I was Kate, I would have firstly ditched the knit beanie. Unless you're in snow, rain, or San Francisco, you don't need it. Next, I would have left behind the black tights. She has nice gams and should show them off. I would have also switched the suede boots for a pair of colored flats.

We fell in love with "Gossip Girl" Serena van der Woodsen's killer boots the moment we laid eyes on them. In true Fab fashion, we have found them, or at least a damn similar pair! Snatch up these Chinese Laundry's "Strate" Tall Boots, on sale for $63 (originally $89). Of course, you probably won't wear them with a school uniform, but any mini skirt should do the trick. In these lovelies, you're ready to tackle the world, "Gossip Girl" style.

It's no big surprise that boots are huge for Fall. There's only a handful I would consider investing in and these Tashkent by Cheyenne Cole Platform Wedges, $485, are one of them. (Thanks lilv for posting them in the Love It or Hate It? group!) Why these? I love that they're slouchy burgundy, suede and have a cutout detail at the sides. Would you take them home?

Fab reader Postgradchic threw casual chic pieces together for a laid-back luxe look - totally perfect for today's Fashion Week kickoff shows Steven Aland and Rachel Comey. She paired a striped midi-length dress with knee-high black suede boots, proving Winter proportions can be cool, too. To keep her ensemble quirky and colorful, she added a slick camel-colored leather jacket, a purple ikat print saddle bag, and a chunky collar necklace. This bohemian-infused attire will fit right into the Fashion Week mold.

Fab reader JustPatience inspired us to whip out our favorite pair of sleek shorts - Winter, take heed - for a super chic Fashion Week ensemble. She rocked a cool pair of navy polka-dotted shorts with a crisp white blouse. To take the look up a notch, she added a bejeweled collar necklace and a cream-colored fur jacket. Her suede midcalf boots, oversized red fold-over clutch, and aviator sunglasses were the final touches on this fashionista attire. It's fashion forward, but super comfortable too - exactly what we dress for during our hectic runway-ridden days.

Real Talk With TV Broke Girl Beth Behrs

Since CBS released its new sitcom 2 Broke Girls, in which actress Beth Behrs plays a recently humbled heiress, Caroline, who moves to Brooklyn to hide out after her father loses their family fortune in a Ponzi scheme.

Caroline winds up living with her perpetually poor fellow waitress, Max, played by Kat Dennings, and the two hatch a plan to save their wages and start a cupcake business.

Recession-era cupcake businesses have been all the rage lately (see: Bridesmaids), but shows addressing personal finances - or lack thereof - with humor and honesty is something we don’t see very often. Caroline and Max manage to plan for their future while hustling for their present - and survive on a shoestring with admirable grace. We love that these characters live richly, even on a tight salary: After all, that's what LearnVest is all about.

And, of course, any show where the leading ladies discuss interest rates is right up our alley.

Beth Behrs: Literally up until we shot the pilot, I was working as a nanny five days a week and then as a bartender and concierge at The Geffen Playhouse on the weekends. So, I can definitely relate to being broke, right out of college and working tons of odd jobs to just pay the rent.
