Celebrity Style: Charlize Theron

Sundance is still rolling along, and last night it brought out a face we haven't seen in a while: Charlize Theron. The actress walked the red carpet for her new movie, Sleepwalking, in an olive cowl-neck dress and black leather boots. Her look, black trench coat included, is very cold-weather appropriate and cool. Does anyone else think her new short hairstyle makes her look a bit like Kylie Minogue?

Fab Finding Follow Up: Buzz and Molly Are Going to Sundance!

The Sundance Film Festival is to BuzzSugar what New York Fashion Week is to Fab. Buzz and Molly are in Utah getting their fill of cool flicks and celebs. Since this is a major event, I asked you to help our girls dress the part. It's really cold and snowy there, so I started you off with this Splendid Cheetah Print Thermal Top ($61). Trend Alert: Wide Legged Jeans!

Wahoo! As I predicted, the skinny jean backlash has begun and wide legged jeans are on the rise. Don't get me wrong - I have warmed up to the skinny silhouette, but I am a 70's girl at heart and love the elongating look of a wide legged pant. Also, I am tall so it makes my legs look super long. But for non-tall gals, it created a long, lean look so really, this is good news for all. With New York Fashion week officially under way, I wonder how many wide legs we're going to see on the runways for Fall 2007. Here is Mandy Moore from this week's Life & Style wearing some fab flares at the Sundance Film Festival.

Sundance Channel Goes Full Frontal Fashion

I was bummed when Full Frontal Fashion, a fashion program focusing on New York Fashion Week, was canceled back in January. Now there's some light at the end of the tunnel - the Sundance Channel is reviving it in its own way. "For us, it’s not about the trendy - it’s just about this dramatic, entertaining and, above all, creative perspective," said general manager Sarah Barnett. Expect a mix of original television programming and Web content.

The Day Before is a four-part series that follows four designers - Sonia Rykiel, Jean Paul Gaultier, Karl Lagerfeld for Fendi, and Proenza Schouler - in the 36 hours preceding their shows. As for the website, which launches Sept. 1, here's what you'll see: Patrick McMullan's video reports and a photo diary from the collections, and contributions from Lynn Yaeger, former Teen Vogue and Nylon fashion editor Aya Kanai, and Los Angeles Times editor Robin Sayers. The site will also feature a video and photo exhibition of the work of Bruce Weber.

If there were a time to embrace velvet, it would be right about now. Some of you have written off the plush fabric, but some of you are holding out for a super stylish piece. Model and actress Devon Aoki showed off her velveteen bag with pride at the Sundance Film Festival. Donning a rather bohemian look, Devon looked like she picked up her no-fuss bag at a local vintage shop. A plushy bag doesn't look so bad, ay?

Many celebrities have left sunny Los Angeles, CA, for chilly Park City, UT. Why? It's the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. As you can imagine, they've ditched their sandals and brought along heavy-duty boots. But that doesn't mean they've left behind their style. Au contraire. Ladies like Zoe Kravitz (left) have taken the cold weather as an opportunity to layer and bundle up in beanies, coats, gloves, and tights. Iconoclast: n. One who attacks and seeks to overthrow traditional or popular ideas or institutions. Can I just say I love Sundance's Iconoclast series. It's in its fourth series and if you indulged in the over-the-top Stylista last night and need a series dose of thinking television, check out tonight's episode where Stella McCartney and artist Ed Ruscha talk art and fashion, fashion and art. Here's a clip where the two are discussing how competitive both their industries are. Stella explains how one must have "survival instincts" in fashion, and really, in both industries, it's all about "selling, selling, selling." Intrigued? Watch tonight on the Sundance channel at 10 p.m.

P.S. I'm also interested in watching the upcoming Iconoclasts of skateboarder Tony Hawk and director Jon Favreau, as well as Cameron Diaz and architect Cameron Sinclair.
