This Week's Fab Favorite: Nicky Hilton

If there was a girl I had to deem representative of feminine and fun LA style it would be Nicky Hilton. She can be flashy fun, but she can also pull in the reigns and be sophisticated. This look softly portrays the lazy days of Summer. It's monochrome; her dress, Balenciaga bag, and wedges are ultralight hued. Speaking of the dress: Does anyone know who it's by?! This dress has been the thorn in my side all week and I now bring it to you, fine Fab readers, to help me ID it. It's adorable. The crocheted neckline, the buttons and the subtle ikat print are sundress perfection. She wears gold aviators and oversized hoops for bling effect, and her wedges have a vintage feel. Even her white cocktail ring stands out. I bet Nicky just threw on her (blank) dress and the rest, and headed out to the streets of her wonderland.

Hot mama Halle Berry visited the dentist's office in a casual, clean ensemble. I can just envision her effortlessly throwing on her Inhabit cowl-neck linen dress over a gray camisole, adding a long beaded necklace, and beaded T-strap sandals. To tie a nice bow around the look, Halle incorporated beaded bracelets, her Tom Ford sunnies, and favorite Versace bag. Au natural with a pinch of glamour.

While sister Nicky opted to wear a fun Tibi dress to the The Good Life photograph event, Paris Hilton chose to show up in head-to-toe white. In fact, she wore the same origami-detailed Yoana Baraschi dress that Halle Berry wore last week while running errands in LA. Halle went the more casual route and chose to mix it up by wearing red flip-flops and an ivory Versace bag. Which look are you digging more - Halle's casual femme or Paris's matchy white on white?

Now that Memorial Day has come and gone, can we say it's Summer yet?! I think so. So, it's Summer and that means sundresses. The combination of red and pink never fails, and this Hawaiian '60s pullover vintage dress with a back zip closure, size small ($44) is nothing short of cute. The subtle tropical print is festive, and you can play it up with a belt or not. Shaka, bra.

Found! Penelope Cruz's Floral Sundress

While serving as director Pedro Almodovar's muse in Spain, Penelope Cruz looks ultra womanly thanks to French Connection's Love in a Mist dress ($168). We're used to seeing Penelope in form-fitting dresses on the red carpet, but it's nice to see her translate her sex appeal into casual threads. The floral sweetheart sundress hugs her in all the right places, but is loose enough to be worn on a hot day. The actress toned down her look with earthy flat sandals and black Ray Ban Wayfarers. Wear Penelope's dress this Summer and hope that someone will want to make you his muse!

2010 Spring New York Fashion Week: Peter Som

If I were to pick one collection from this Fashion Week that best represents Fab, it would be Peter Som. Seriously, I didn't want to leave this presentation; alas, I had to go to Marchesa . . . life is rough. Som has clearly moved past his turbulent Bill Blass past, fully opening his heart to his namesake. Som's Spring collection made me feel like a kid in a candy store. It was fresh, colorful, funky, youthful. There was so much spunk, it was probably overwhelming for the most pro-black jaded fashionista. Or, hopefully, it was eye-opening.

In every direction there was flirtation. There was a slight American feel via marine-stripes, sundresses, charm bracelets, and red, white and blue. You hear me talk about mixmastering - Som continues the conversation. A hodgepodge of colors and textures were swirled together; leopard, splash florals, embroidery, polka-dots, herringbone. Even woven belts were two-tone, sunglasses marbelized. The emphasis was on separates, and fun, lots and lots of fun.
