After a long and painful wait, Gossip Girl is back! Little J seems to be ascending the ranks of the hierarchy, or at least trying her darndest to, and her wardrobe is following behind. Jenny spruced up her school garb with nothing less than a Valentino coat, Tahari blouse, Moschino heels, and an eye-popping Valentino bag. Whew! And she still felt compelled to nick a Valentino gown? Tsk, tsk. Of course, no Gossip Girl fashion fix could be complete without a stunning array of hosiery and headbands. Are you excited as we are about the return of these Upper East Siders and their colorful confections?

Trend Alert: Tweed

When the weather turns it automagically puts me in the mood for tweed. This classic fabric is resilient and toastie - and, regardless to what you may think, it can be sexed up.

To the left is the Salvatore Ferragamo Fall collection and those tweed pants are powerful stuff. You may not have plumage laying around for such an exotic top, but show a little decolletage, hike yourself up in heels and top it of with some crimson lip rouge. Katherine Hepburn: are you in there?

Recently celebs have been marching the streets in strong, structured military-inspired coats. It's obvious why. These statements in outerwear provide a sort of fashion armor; you can take on the big bag world in a determined jacket with regal flair such as brass buttons and charismatic collars. I adore the way Sienna wears hers below - who cares what she's wearing underneath it, her fashion armor and her hairy tail-wagging troops are ready for battle. Let the fashion face off begin.

It's a known fact that many models have style. These are, after all, the gals who get to wear the collections first, have the bodies to wear even the slimmest cut, travel the world for inspiration and make very good money for smiling and walking - why do we not hate these girls again? Milla Jovovich has been on the scene a while now and has proven she can do more than just walk and smile; she can sing, act and design, and yet, I can't hate her. Here she is at the Mango event we wrote about earlier. Though she is wearing a frock from the Mango collection, found by Mysterious ways, I thought this look was easy Mod and breezy chic.
