Here is my ode to The Great Gatsby. Fashion is experiencing a throwback to the times of art deco, pleats, beading, speak-easies, and the Belle Epoque. Legendary designer Paul Poiret has been referenced and you can see his dropped hemline and flapper hats in a major way in the Proenza Schouler Fall 2007 collection.

It's nice to see Katherine Heigl dressed so elegantly, especially after her hideous outfit at the airport. She definitely got herself together for her appearances for Knocked Up because she's rockin' the black and blue trend with a ladylike striped skirt. Have I ever expressed how much I adore funnel necks? They're not quite as stuffy as turtlenecks and not as loose as cowl necks. This Tulle Funnel Neck Jacket ($58, originally $83) is simply adorable and something I could see Audrey Hepburn wearing if she were still with us.

Only two out of the three Vanitas (Latin for "the Vanities") founders are biological family (Jennifer Band and Katie Wacha), but they all consider themselves sisters. That may be because Jennifer is married to Taryn Band's brother, Alex, singer of the band, The Calling. Now that we got the whole family thing straightened out, let's focus on the clothes, as they're definitely worth gushing about!

Welcome to our second installment of Fall 2006 Shoe trends! Yesterday we covered Mary Janes and today it's embellished flats. It seems like flats never go out of style, but this season's twist consists of embellishments like rich fabrics, metallic features and feminine flourishes, not unlike the feminine features we are seeing in the clothing for Fall 2006.
