Hollywood, as well as Washington, has gotten the Prabal Gurung bug. And it's easy to see why - his frocks are delicate, yet make quite a statement. Thandie Newton wore Prabal's black-and-white floral frock at the 2012 premiere. Leighton Meester went for a more daring floral frock. Demi Moore opted for a classy-cum-sassy Prabal at GQ's Gentlemen's Ball, and Michelle Obama wore the designer's sheath dress when she recently donated her inaugural ball gown to the Smithsonian. All breathtaking, but who wore Prabal Gurung best?

Prabal Gurung seems to be a Hollywood favorite as of late. Leighton Meester was spotted donning his big blooms just the other day, and now, Thandie Newton has jumped on the fashion bandwagon. The effervescent actress emoted maximum sophistication in Prabal's black-and-white floral frock at the 2012 movie premiere in LA yesterday. I love the chic color palette, and how she accessorized with sleek black suede Brian Atwood pumps and matte red lips. Now that's classic Hollywood beauty.

If I could attend one Summer soiree it would be the fabulous Serpentine Gallery's Summer party. It's not the biggest or the most star-studded, but it's a pretty cool spread and diverse, stylish crowd. Where else do Dasha Zhukova and Jamiroquoi's Jay Kay mingle? This Week's Fab Favorite: Thandie Newton

There have been so many amazing outfits between the 2008 Venice Film Festival and the start of New York Fashion Week that I almost missed this stunning Matthew Williamson number on Thandie Newton at the Toronto premiere of RocknRolla. Good thing I didn't, because like always, the actress gives us a lesson on how to appear cool and fashionable in bright colors. The key, as exemplified in Thandie's look, is to temper vivid hues with contrasting dark colors, such as black.

There are floral frocks aplenty, but what makes this Williamson dress as fresh as a bouquet is the digitalized print. Upon closer inspection, you will notice that the flowers are pixelated. What a dope way to fuse fashion and technology! With such a loud look, Thandie proves that minimal use of accessories is key. She only has a ring, a black clutch, and gorgeous Giuseppe Zanotti buckled black patent sandals ($750). That's all she needs, really.

Fabcon: Thandie Newton

Standing at a mere 5'2, Thandie Newton is one hot tamale. Her roles in blockbuster hits such as Crash and The Pursuit of Happyness skyrocketed her career straight onto Hollywood's red carpet. That's where I come in.

Born from a Zimbabwean mother and British father, it seems natural for Newton to encompass a mixed bag of style. Her unique fashion sense ranges from eclecticism to svelte and sexy ensembles. What I love about Thandie is she's always fun and daring. She manages to pull off risqué cuts and fun colors without overwhelming her petite figure. One of my favorite looks from her is this shiny, snake-like, frock she wore to a Calvin Klein event - ingenious.

I'm a fan of lace, but not when it's overkill. Thandie Newton's Chanel ensemble was definitely eye-catching but it would have been much better without the long lace cardigan. Do you agree?

High Drama at The BAFTAs

If you were disappointed with the looks at the Grammys last night, no fear. Across the pond another red carpet was in full swing: the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards. Now this is the kind of drama I like to see on the stars. Some of our faves looked stunning - Emily Blunt, Keira Knightley and Amanda Peet, to name a few. One lady in particular looked more Fab than usual: Jessica Biel in strapless black was a big improvement. Than, there are the risk takers; Thandie is always daring and darling and Sienna in Dior - that back takes the Trifle cake.
