Nina Garcia is proving to be quite the authority on penning style. The Elle fashion director turned Marie Claire fashion director and Project Runway judge is also a Fab favorite - remember she answered all your burning fashion questions a while back? With her surely busy schedule, and following her first book, Nina has released The One Hundred: A Guide to the Pieces Every Stylish Woman Must Own ($15), available for preorder. Like her first book, Ruben Toledo illustrations accompany witty and exact writing. Unlike her first book, it's silver, denser, and yours truly is featured on page 29! How exciting is that? (Thanks, Nina)I've given it a good flip through and I already own many of her 100 suggested items to style salvation. Phew - knowing Nina she would have convinced me to get all 100. But what's cool is, even though I own a monokini, I did not know the Vatican denounced it in 1964. And these are the sort of fashion nuggets Nina shares. Make sure to add this one to your Summer reading list, stat.

On Our Radar: Nina Garcia, Book Number Three

Third time doesn't need to be a charm for Nina Garcia and her beloved book series. Alas, she's giving us more of what we love with a book aimed at today's economically challenged times. The book, titled The Style Strategy: A Less Is More Approach to Staying Chic and Shopping Smart, is destined to offer insight during a fashion recession. Due out in August, and Ruben Toledo will once again lend his illustration skills. After The One Hundred, where yours truly had a cameo, and Nina Garcia's Little Black Book of Style, this one will move to the top of our reading list.

And while we're sort of on the subject . . . Project Runway season five has wrapped. Taking place in LA this time around, the finale show is on the New York Fashion Week schedule in its Friday 9 a.m. time slot. Where and when the new season will air is still in the air, heh, but supposedly the finale show will happen. You may recall, in previous seasons, a handful of contestants show to serve as a decoy so as not to reveal the real winner. But this time, who is presenting will be a secret. So, not only do we not know when and if PR will air, but we'll have no idea who designed what. Confusing much?

What are the top five out of your 100 items every women must have?

Jeans, white man’s shirt, heels, little black dress, diamonds.

How do you and Ruben Toledo collaborate on the illustrations?

Ruben is a genius. I sent him a list and he just turned out some of the most beautiful illustrations I have ever seen. He knew exactly what vision I had for every item. In fact, I think he knew better than me what I wanted the book’s aesthetic to be. He captured the essence of what I had in mind just perfectly.

Who do you think is the most stylish celebrity?

I can’t pick just one. I am always in awe of women like Elle MacPherson, Kate Moss, and Dita von Teese. They all have a distinctive personal style and they stick to it, irrespective of trends.

Besides your own closet, where else did you draw inspiration from for your guide?

From fashionable friends, celebrities past and present, music, movies, museums, great paintings, old photographs . . . and on and on and on . . .

Speaking of closets, how long should you wait to throw out an item in your closet you haven’t worn in a while?

If you haven’t worn an item in a year, it’s time to consider parting ways. However, if it’s a Pucci dress or a Missoni knit that you are just letting sit out a season or two, of course that stays. But if it’s a pair of pants you haven’t worn in five years, kiss ‘em goodbye.

You mention push-up bras in the book; what kind of bra gal are you?

There are so many factors involved here. It depends on the outfit, the time of day, the occasion, my mood, etc. Undergarments are an important element to your style and should be chosen with as much care as every other element of your look.

Do you own every single item in your guide?

Yes. That said, I am always on the hunt for multiples. A girl can never have enough belts, heels, diamonds, cocktail rings . . .

What will the next book be about? And what color will the cover be (I love the silver)?

I have a few ideas floating around in my head, but right now, I’m focused on enjoying the afterglow from this book.

What’s your favorite pant/jean cut?

I’m a classicist. I like the good old Levi’s 501s.

What emerging designers do you have your eye on?

I am always on the lookout for new, young designers. Right now, I have my eye on Alexandra Wang, Philip Lim, Peter Som, and Chris Benz. But again, there are so many good ones out there!

What trend do you wish would die already?

The new “it jean” emerging every week. Each time someone asks me what the hot jean is, I freeze. I don’t know! I can’t keep up. We must all get back to the days of buying the jean that looks great on you, and fits your body perfectly. When one does, THAT’S the “it jean.”

I spy six of Nina Garcia's One Hundred here: exotic skin bag, sandals, men's white shirt, Minnetonka moccasins, BlackBerry, and jeans. And, I agree that all of the above are Fab and necessary. But the key pieces here are the white shirts and jeans. All three of these stars have different styles and approaches. Beyonce is the posh jetsetter, Katie is the chic theatric, and Nicole is the downtown gamine. These are pieces you already have in your closet, in multiples no doubt, but how will you spice yours up? The possibilities are endless . . .

After much anticipation, the Agent Provocateur Bridal photos featuring Kate Moss were released this week and each and every one of them was worth the wait. Naturally, a fabulous shindig followed suit. And how can I not mention one of the biggest events of the week that gave us tons of photos to look at: the Met's Costume Institute Gala! I would like to personally thank all of the beautiful people who attended because it provided eye candy times a hundred.
