Manoush Multicolored Tiered Dress: Love It or Hate It?

Am I looking at a dress or a piñata? No disrespect to Manoush because I normally like her designs, but this Manoush Multicolored Tiered Dress ($480) should have never left the showroom. That amount of tiers wouldn't even look good on a stick-skinny model. Maybe, just maybe if it were all one color it would be better, but the colorblock makes it silly. Am I being way harsh?

The Look For Less: Luella Tiered Floral Mini Skirt

Luella's fun, floral frocks have been making their rounds but I'm most smitten with the tiered floral mini skirt that bug-eyed model Masha Tylena wore at the Spring '08 show. The designer has proven that little girls aren't the only ones who can pull off this style. Now if only she could have made it more affordable . . .

read more Forever 21 is no stranger to high-fashion duplications, but this Floral Ruffle Skirt ($18) is one of the best so far. The colors aren't dead on, and the tiers are much bigger, but it's equally fabulous and much less pricey. Whether you are single or taken this Valentine's Day, romanticize your bedroom with a bit of charming decor. Lighting, soft linens, candles, and fresh flowers are just a few ways you can make your bedroom a more alluring space to retire for the evening.

Chandeliers add a grandiose element to a bedroom. Hang a dramatic cascading light fixture to the center of the room like this Tier Cascade Faux Chandelier ($58) from Urban Outfitters. Going with a neutral color like champagne will easily work with most color schemes plus it will set off a rich, warm light when turned on at night.

Last night, Viola Davis glowed at the 18th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards. Decked out in a white Marchesa gown with a metallic embroidered bodice, the color read more brass than gold, especially when compared to the color in her gold bracelet. I love the contrast between the milky dress and the metallic accents and set out to find some home decorating pieces that embraced a similar color scheme.

I'm a major fan of brass lamps, so it makes sense that three of the items I've chosen are types of lighting. Start with your overhead illumination needs with the infinitely affordable Brass Tiered Pendant Shade ($64). Made from a material mix of plastic, brass, copper, and glass, it's an inexpensive way to get in on the brass trend.

My favorite lighting choice, however, is the Hammered Brass Sconce ($165) from Serena & Lily. A concave, hand-hammered brass oval shape reflects light and will cast a warm glow throughout your room. I'm tempted to switch out my bedroom sconces with a pair of these brass sconces - they'd add such ambiance!

The ladylike curves of the Ethan Allen Hepburn Sofa ($2,200) would work perfectly with a classic, feminine decorating scheme. The sofa is a beautiful piece, from its modern straight tapered leg to its rolled arms and sleek camelback.
