Tom Ford to Return to Womenswear

The rumors are true. Tom Ford has confirmed his return to womenswear. If all goes to plan, we won't have to wait too long; Ford is said to be looking at Fall 2010 as a potential launch date for the new line. All that's holding him up is financing. Currently, Tom Ford and his business partner Domenico De Sole are seeking an estimated $50 million to fund the endeavor. That's certainly a hefty sum, but Ford is confident that "things are getting better every day in most places. So I'm optimistic and this is something that I plan on doing for the next 30 years of my life, so if I have to wait another six months or a year [to launch women's], it's OK." 30 years of Tom Ford. Bring. It. On.

Tom Ford Womenswear - Could It Be?!

I hate to get hopes up, but it may finally happen: Tom Ford, womenswear. Tom's company, Tom Ford International, is seeking monies of more than £30 million (about $50 million) for a first collection. The former Gucci and YSL designer launched his namesake label in '04 and, not surprisingly, has had mad success via menswear, sunglasses, and fragrances. His film looks to be a winner; if this is true, no doubt Tom will bring sexy back to the runways . . .

Last Fall, Tom Ford showed his shades via a dolled-up Liliana Dominguez and fried chicken. This Fall, Ford brought it back to the basics. Nude basics. Tom did the shooting this time and brought in nakie exotic blond Anna Maria Jagodzinska and favorite male model Jon Kortajarena. “I have taken pictures for years, but recently have become more serious about it and have started shooting portraits,” said Ford. Tom has also been busy wrapping up his film A Single Man, debuting at the Venice Film Festival Sept. 11. Oh, Brad. If there were a male peacock at the Cannes Film Festival, it would be Brad. While we were loving or hating the ladies' red carpet looks, Brad was suiting up in Tom Ford. He worked a pastel suit for the Inglourious Basterds press conference. This reminds me of his stellar wardrobes in the Ocean's movies - so slick. His taupe scarf and brown loafers were fun grandpa-gone-glam touches. Later, he went all-out tux for the red carpet. The tuxedo stripes down the sides of the pants add some shine, a white ascot is quite dapper, and I love black patent leather shoes on men. Both times he donned fresh aviators. I'm dying to know: which stylin' Cannes Brad makes your heart flutter?
