One of our favorite Fall trends is carrying over to Spring - tribal looks. Safari-inspired pieces graced the runways at Michael Kors, Donna Karan, and Diane von Furstenberg, as designers played with mixed prints, raw textures, and vibrant hues. From head-to-toe animal prints at Michael Kors to warrior-like tribal dresses at Herve Leger, we can’t wait to get our safari on for Spring.

Look of the Day: Gone Native

First of all, wherever Fab reader stylebysantina is, we would like to be, right now. Second, we love the way she mixes up tribal and utility trends for a chic and breezy vacation look that is laid-back but still feminine. Tying a safari shirt over a printed dress is a brilliant way to get more use out of a dress, and she elevates the shirt with a pretty necklace and gold cuff. We also applaud metallic flats: in a tropical paradise where flip flops are the norm, a little sparkle -and a real sole - is a nice touch.

This Week's Fab Favorite: Paz de la Huerta

Sometimes all it takes is a killer pair of shoes. You know this. A rockin' bod and an unexpected slit help, too. It's all in the details with this one . . . After a week of seeing enviable gowns and glamour at the Cannes Film Festival, there's something fresh and perfect about actress Paz de la Huerta's (not so) minimal look. Earth tones never looked so sexy, and little flesh is exposed here. But you can still see Paz's curves and slender stems. But let's talk about those exquisite black tribal sandals! No info on the genius who designed them yet (anyone know?), but they are little pieces of art. With shoes like that, paring everything else down is key. Paz was promoting her film Enter the Void and she has my undivided attention. P.S. Honorable mention of the week is Brad Pitt in pink Tom Ford - totally pulls it off.

Trend Alert: Bag It Bohemian Style

Another wild trend for Spring in the realm of Luxotica is bohemian bags. These embellished handbags will instantly perk up any ensemble with their hippie-meets-tribal aesthetic. I like how they give off an ethnic vibe without going over the top, especially when paired with a neutral palette. This Diane von Furstenberg Wrap Bag ($1,495) is a seamless balance between funky and fabulous. I can already see myself pairing this bag with cut-off shorts, a white tee, and chunky platform sandals . . .

Inspired: Ginnifer Goodwin's Updated Black

Ginnifer Goodwin is one of my favorite characters on Big Love, and she doesn't disappoint off the set either. I love the way that her basic black skirt and sheer top, which she wore at the Dolce and Gabbana flagship boutique opening earlier this week, is given an updated twist, thanks to these unexpected tribal beads.

I was inspired to create a room that employed the same style strategy: basic black, with a tribal twist. In much the same way that Ginnifer has updated her classical black with tribal beads, the Jayson Gilt Kuba Chair ($2,695) is a classically shaped, antique French chair that's been upholstered in vintage African Kuba cloth. Unexpected and elegant - just like Ginnifer.

Trend Alert: A Tribe Called Kate

Rarely do we see Lady Kate in prints, but isn't it her multifarious style we all know and love? Affirmative. Her vintage-looking printed turtleneck is a testament to a tribe called Kate. While this top may look Marcia Brady on the hanger, make it a focal point by sexing it up and cooling it down with denim shorties and Prada sunnies. Vivid prints stand on their own, so keep the rest mellow. Risk taking at its best, live a little fashion folks.
