Jason Wu Takes on Tse

There's more reason to love Wu now that the designer has taken on a new project: designing a capsule collection for Tse. “When she [Tse's CEO, Christina Peng-Gerschultz] asked me if I wanted to do a capsule [line], I thought, ‘This could be interesting,’” said Wu. “In many ways, I am probably the least expected designer to do this, because Tse’s aesthetic is so different from my own, but that’s one reason I wanted to do it.”

The collection will be comprised of woven and knitwear pieces dipped in colorful hues. Tse, who currently works with Wu on producing his knitwear pieces, will debut the Fall '10 limited-edition capsule collection in February during New York Fashion Week. Prices are TBD, but we do know the line will hit Tse stores in July.

Tse, the company known for its sophisticated cashmere (but it also sells wools, silks and cottons) is now providing refined and functional totes for its well-heeled customers. Currently there are four styles, my favorite being the Dark Ink/Cinder Double Face Cashmere Shopper Tote; call for pricing info. The mix of navy blue and dark brown works quite well and would be darling with dark, wide-legged jeans, a crisp, tucked in white tee, and a grey cardi.
