To be fair, everything Diane wears is tasty. But rarely do we see her so vibrant in mismatching colors and wearing blingy accessories. Rejoice! Here she is between shopping visits in Berlin in a tasty tulip Stella McCartney print skirt (with obi belt), yellow tee, cascading necklace, and Chanel bag. Metallic sandals appear to be both comfortable and functional. The latest crop of tulip skirts are unique and heavily draped, inspiring experimentation. Screw playing it safe, Diane never does.

The Look For Less: Marc Jacobs Silk Tulip Skirt

Tulip skirts totally remind me of Spring. After all, tulips do best in the brisk Spring weather. This look, modeled by Daiane Conterato, is from Marc Jacobs's Resort '09 collection. The bright blue tulip skirt is flirty and Fab just like the flower, but the $850 price tag is insanely steep for my wallet. It's good then that I found a cheaper skirt that has the same shape and sexy asymmetrical slit. I can now recreate this funky fresh look without going broke. Perfecto.

When I feel like channeling my inner goddess, I look for clothes with decadent draping. This ode to Grecian beauty is all about soft textiles wrapped, folded, and pleated into beautiful cuts. Black is back. But while most stars are turning to LBDs, Lindsay Price is doing her own thing. The actress attended the 2nd annual H.E.L.P. Malawi fundraising event in NYC in an all-black ensemble that dazzled from head to toe. I love that she paired up different fabrics - a satin tulip skirt with a rayon cocoon top. The oversized stone and chain necklace and gold sandals provide just enough variation. What a wonderful holiday party outfit!

The Look For Less: Maria Sharapova's Black Tulip Skirt

Tennis star Maria Sharapova appeared on the Late Show With David Letterman looking quite the style maven in her black-and-white ensemble and to-die-for YSL sandals. I don't normally look to sports figures for inspiration, but I have to give credit where credit is due . . . and Maria's black tulip skirt spurred a hunt to find something equally sexy but not equally pricey.

Designers have been playing with volume for seasons now. What was once a frightening trend has evolved into something modern and wearable. The easiest way to play with volume is with a tulip skirt. All you need to do is keep is slim or structured on top, depending on whether you want to go flirty (see Emporio Armani Fall '07 at left) or artsy, and definitely pair with some sexy booties. Tulips require heels to blossom, and your overall womanly silhouette will flourish.

Jason Wu is a master at wowing - season after season, he sends down looks that make us wish we had an indispensable bank account so we could acquire every piece. For Fall '11, Wu continued to supply a luxurious aesthetic: red-carpet-worthy gowns, chic separates, and embellished details that shine. While sultry gowns and sassy short frocks ruled the runway, the designer did also inject pops of menswear via tuxedo blazers and slim pants. What also reigned supreme was lace - it added romance to everything from coats to blouses to gowns to the black half veils some models wore. The dressy message was heard loud and clear.
