If you don't know which way to go down the menswear brick road this Fall, the easiest place to start is tuxedo shirts. Ellen Pompeo looked fresh and chic in a Yves Saint Laurent shirt blowing in the wind this Summer. Fortunately, a crisp white shirt is a year 'round item. Not too long ago we had a tuxedo day but this pulled together yet relaxed look is in vogue, from here to eternity. Whether you choose to go white, black, shirt or shirtdress, go day or night paired with a pencil skirt or some sexy black skinnies and a pair of man-eating heels.

Fab Read: Rebel Rebel, Anti-Style

A bit of a rebel himself, British singer-turned-designer Keanan Duffty has penned a book that will appeal to, well, rebels. Rebel Rebel: Anti-Style ($23), debuting Sept. 8, is a 144-page book exploring how the "heritage and history" of fashion staples like the T-shirt and leather jacket have inspired that style. Famous rebels like Elvis Presley, James Dean, Johnny Depp and Gwen Stefani are also highlighted, as are denim, rock T-shirts and hoodies, hair, makeup, and body art. "When you walk into vintage stores, there are different sections for tuxedos, prom dresses, etc. We approached the book the same way," Duffty said. Makes total sense.

Menswear is a must-have for Fall 2006, but in particular, I've been noticing a lot of tuxedo-inspired styles cropping up lately. Unlike other menswear, delicately detailed tuxedo pieces-including satin-trimmed pants, cummerbunds, and pleated shirts-translate flawlessly into women's fashions. Is it any surprise that tuxedos seem to be inspiring designs of everything from suits to belts to dresses? Here's a look at some of my favorite tux-influenced pieces.

Celebrity Style: Jennifer Morrison

Barack Obama is officially the president of the United States. Epic. Actress Jennifer Morrison proudly displayed her love at an inauguration party last night. She ditched the ball gown and kept things sharp in a satin tuxedo-like pantsuit worn over an Obama t-shirt. I love how the tee balances out the fancy suit and how her hoop earrings reel in some spunk. I guess First Lady Michelle isn't the only one fusing politics and fashion.

As the boys' closets continue to inspire the girls' closets, the ladies are happy to take the creme de la creme of the penguin attire. Button up a vest, consume yourself in a crisp white shirt, slide on a pair of expertly tailored trousers and hello Marlene Dietrich - who set the standard for tuxedo chic. Dribble some satin and rhinestones on, for some femme effect, and get ready to razzle dazzle 'em.

I Want This Wardrobe: The O.C., Season 3

Season Three of The O.C. was the pinnacle for the show. Marissa gets kicked out of school for her shooting incident from Season Two, she then eventually goes off the deep end and turns to drugs & alcohol and relations with bad boy, Volchok. Kristin is recovering from her bouts with the bottle while Julie falls in love with Summer's dad - go figure. Adorable little blondie Anna & slightly annoying, but somewhat endearing, Taylor add comic relief. We re-meet Marissa's quickly grown up sassy little sis, Kaitlin. Also, Summer's style really evolves and she shows us her full beauty potential. All of this leading up to the foursome graduating, all from Harbor (yay!). Then, just when we thought they were home free and off to college, Marissa meets the ultimate doom and dies in a car accident. I for one, was totally crushed. On to the clothes, for which there were many cute ones this season!

Kirsten Dunst at David Letterman: Love It or Hate It?

I just told you that I'm a sucker for the menswear-as-womenswear look and you know I meant it because I am digging Kirsten's pintucked shirt, tuxedo-like blazer, not to mention the round-toe platform Mary Janes. However, her skinny black pants are a bit ill-fitting - I can't stand the scrunching on the bottom, a slim straight cut would have been better. I admit this look may be a tad too formal for Letterman, but nevertheless I admire it. To top off this look is juicy red lipstick and tousled hair - effortless and chic at the same time. What do you all think?
