How much fun it must be to wear the designer's pick to a charity event benefiting a great cause like UNICEF. While the hostess, Rihanna, brought the mostess, a few other lovelies donned Gucci garb. Becki and Blake both wore looks from Gucci's dark, folksy Fall collection, and while the two have similar studded and embroidered embellishments, the silhouettes are vastly different.

Rihanna has been fulfilling her duties as the Gucci/UNICEF spokeswoman and she has been doing so in super style. Last night she, along with Madonna (in label love Louis Vuitton) and Blake Lively, showed their support at the lighting of UNICEF's snowflake in New York. Rihanna is a great fit for the brand — bold, strong, sensual.

Gucci and Rihanna love children. In collaboration with the United Nation's Children's Fund, UNICEF, Gucci has enlisted music sensation Rihanna to spearhead the label's first ad campaign with the nonprofit organization.
"I felt a musician and a beautiful woman was the perfect icon for this campaign" said Gucci's creative director, Frida Giannini.

I don't know who helped these PYTs select their green Gucci dresses but whoever did did an excellent job. Reason being: the shades of green perfectly complement the skin tones of both ladies. Elegant and fresh, which green Gucci rules?

Some serous heavy hitters showed up at one of the most anticipated events of fashion week: the "A Night to Benefit Raising Malawi and UNICEF" hosted by Madonna and Gucci. There's no doubt philanthropy and fashion mix. Katie Holmes chose to wear a sleek dramatically folded red dress while Gwyneth opted for a big bowed pink mini dress.

Madonna and Gucci have joined forces but the headline doesn't go something like "Gucci dresses Madonna for a chi-chi event." Both are hosting a fund-raising event on February 6 to raise money for orphans in Malawi. Specifically, proceeds will go to UNICEF and Raising Malawi, a charity the singer co-founded in 2006.

Every year, Gucci prepares a UNICEF holiday campaign, but this year, the company is increasing its efforts. First, it raised its contribution to UNICEF by 5 percent; consequently, 25 percent of the revenues from the sale of seasonal gifts will go to helping the organization.
Another addition is a special edition Gucci for UNICEF bag, which is the traditional Indy canvas bag with a special rosette design.

There were rumors circling in June that Emma Watson was to become a charitable fashion designer for UNICEF. Sadly those rumors were shot down, but it appears they weren't too far off-the-mark. Announced today, Emma Watson will be creating a capsule collection for People Tree, which will launch in February 2010.
