Stella Helps Leona Lewis Go Vegan (Designer)

Leona Lewis has gone vegan, and who better to help her than Stella McCartney? Rumor has it the songstress - who doesn't wear fur, suede, or leather - has enlisted Stella's help to create her own vegan clothing and accessories line. What makes this collection different from Stella's? Leona wants it to be a more affordable option. This is one celebrity designer collection I would like to see.

Molly is all ears down in LA at the 2009 Winter TCAs. And who did she get an earful from regarding a specially designed Vegan shoe line? We know her, we love her hair, and she's Ellen's main squeeze - Portia de Rossi. An avid animal protector, Portia was promoting her new show but also divulging juicy details. She also swore she tries to wear leather as little as possible. No further details, but we're all ears now.

On Our Radar: Cri de Coeur Shoes

After years of earning a bad rap, vegan shoes are experiencing a mini-boom of Fabification.

First, Natalie Portman created a capsule collection of vegan-friendly patent heels. Now, Gina Ferraraccio has launched Cri de Coeur for Spring, trying her hand at cute vegan shoes - think Stella McCartney, but more affordable.

The shoes come in modern shapes like peep toe flat, ankle boot, or gladiator wedge, and stick to the animal-friendly materials: suede microfiber, canvas, chambray, and rubber composite. Additionally, Gina has partnered with The Carbon Fund, vowing to plant a tree for each pair of shoes sold. Animal-friendly, earth-friendly, cute shoes: check, check, and check!

Cri de Coeur is available at Ravinstyle.com and runs $120-$250.

This Just In! More From Natalie Portman's Vegan Shoe Collection

Longtime vegan Natalie, who until now only wore shoes from Target or Stella McCartney, has finally found a way to expand her collection.

As I revealed a couple weeks ago, she designed a cruelty-free line of shoes with retailer Té Casan. One hundred percent of the proceeds are set to benefit The Nature Conservancy, and the shoes can be ordered from TeCasan.com starting Tuesday, Jan. 15!

Now here's a celebrity designer foray that sounds promising. Hollywood sweetheart and vegetarian Natalie Portman will design a collection for New York shoe boutique Te Casan. If this red patent shoe is an indicator of the look and feel of her collection, sign me up. Speaking of, pre-orders can be placed January 15 and the collection is due out in February. Sign up for Te Casan's email list to stay in the know. Oh, and did I mention prices will be around that $200 soft spot?

Remember how I said one of my New Year's resolutions was to wear more vintage? Five months into '09 and I'm feeling fine. Well, it's made easier when friends put together genius ideas like a vintage swap party and serve you mimosas and vegan scones. One fine Sunday, three gal pals edited their vintage finds and put together an afternoon-long party to sell them. Prices were cheap, pieces were cute, and yours truly left with three new old things. Oh, and a date. Not too shabby, check it out!
