Six women's designers have been named Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation winners, joining an illustrious group of past honorees which includes Zac Posen, Proenza Schouler, and Derek Lam. The new recipients, who are each given a $25,000 grant to help showcase their Fall 2008 collections at New York Fashion Week in February, are Alexander Wang, Elise Overland, Lyell by Emma Fletcher, Reyes by José Ramón Reyes, and Wayne by Wayne D. Lee in the women's design category, as well as Subversive Jewelry by Justin Giunta in the accessories design category.

Since we are in the midst of a dress frenzy, this designer has dresses figured out. Oh, and this designer is actually a girl named Wayne. Even though she's got a masculine name, her frocks are flowing and free, with a touch of tomboy.

I hope you wore out your black tights last Winter because party hose will soon put them to shame. Designers continue to play with hosiery and the Fall offerings will be anything but boring black. Don't get me wrong — a black tight is classic — but think about a textured black (Chanel, left, drool), a flowered jewel tone, an artsy statement, or the '80s fave: pantyhose.
