It's not even really a "rule." It makes no sense whatsoever. While I might not wear white in December, there's no reason not to wear it for the rest of September into early fall.
I have this really amazing white winter coat so I'll definitely still wear white. And I just bought a nice white blazer. I'm not waiting for Spring 2010 to wear it.
Even if I wanted to stop wearing white for the fall/winter, fall in the Bay Area doesn't start for a while yet. I'm looking forward to a long, warm, Indian summer
I voted yes...I'll put away my white linen dresses and other white items, but my basic white tee's will stay and out come the creams & beige. It's hard not wearing "still summer" outfits
in California...it stays warm a little bit longer. But, I am totally looking forward to the fall/winter. I miss my favorite burgundy sweater.
White is white. No one has stopped wearing white shirts! It has to do with the fabrics and the individual, and also what climate you live. You won't being wearing dark colors in Phoenix AZ.
Fashion has changed over the years giving you more freedom and individuality. That's how you create your own sense of style breaking "rules".
It all depends on where you live. East coast mavens will not wear white after Labor, but creams and ivories are acceptable. Florida, California and hotter climates can certainly wear white
until the cows come home!!
i don't really own all too much white but somethings i will still wear - white ts and the basics.
honestly, most rules are better broken, it's how we advance in fashion and come out with brilliant designers
i have a white eyelet dress that i think is way to "summery" on its own, but...i'm definitely looking forward to layering it w/ a long cardy, colored tights, and boots to "fall" it up!!!
i love it too much to not wear it until next spring!!

Time to put away your bright whites, we like cream as a transitional color for September.
1Agreed with Anonymous. Fall and winter are a time for deeper colors, creams and ivories can work very nicely against the navy, hunter and plum.

4I'll switch it up to creams, beiges, etc.
5I said yes. I definitely store bright summer whites and start to pull out the ivories, creams and beiges after Labor Day!

8I have some white dresses I definitely plan on wearing post-Labor Day.
9Sorry but I don't follow silly rules I have no reason to follow. It's a color. What difference does it make what time of year it is?
10I love white, and I'm not following some silly rule!

17I can't let a holiday dictate my fashion choices...
18What Not To Wear told me this was a silly old rule. I bow down to the experts

20i don't really own all too much white but somethings i will still wear - white ts and the basics.

This rule is just weird. I'll wear white when I want and that's that.
22I normally don't wear much white because it's boring. I prefer color; so, yeah, the rule doesn't apply to me.
23I'll be wearing my white all year round. I think it looks really interesting with deep, rich fall colors.
24i dont even understand the rule. i wear white every fn day.

26That rule is archaic and stupid. Do people actually seriously follow this rule anymore?
