Old Navy's Women's Plus Winter Collection has hit the real and virtual racks, and there are some luxurious items to be had. Whether you need clothes for the office, the office party, out on the town, or running errands, there's a piece or two, or three, for you.

Set in a Rachel Feinstein-designed, storybook-inspired, castle-in-ruins Winter wonderland, Marc Jacobs presented his Fall 2012 collection with more than just a little fashion fanfare. The first word that comes to mind? Hats! And lots of them, all by mastermind milliner Stephen Jones, each one more wonderfully whimsical than the one before. These wild toppers, in addition to the parade of rich, slightly oversized outerwear, giant safety-pin closures, bejeweled square-toed shoes, luxe ostrich-skin handbags, and more, served as a serious testament to Marc's vivid imagination. Vera Wang Fall 2012

Vera Wang explored the relationship between hard and soft, structure and fluidity in her Fall 2012 collection. Like many of the collections this season, Wang's clothes had a distinct architectural feel via artful prints and super-structured outerwear. On the flip side, dresses were sheer and made of flowy chiffon, a softness that she countered with sparkly tops resembling armor (very pretty armor that we might want to wear out at night). Big coats were a win - many of them had oversized hoods and big fur collars that made them look like positively yummy options for Winter. With Vera's innate talent for constructing insanely beautiful dresses, we paid special attention to her eveningwear options, particularly one pale blue dress of layered chiffon and organza that, with a slip underneath, might just appeal to the celebs in the front row, including Viola Davis, Maria Sharapova, and Leighton Meester.

Trends: Architectural prints, sculptural silhouettes, sheerness.
Colors: Gray, black, camel, a gorgeous dutch blue and bright orange for contrast.
Key Piece: The coats with big hoods and oversized collars; a dutch blue organza dress.
Accessories: Big wedge booties and boots looked futuristic but were also a bit heavy.
Who Would Wear It: With Leighton Meester, Maria Sharapova, and Viola Davis in the front row, you can assume a diverse group of women might be attracted to Wang's artful sensibility here, but overall it's geared to women who don't want the classics.

One thing's for sure - nothing is off limits or out of the realm of possibility when Marc Jacobs is at the helm. To this point, we spied cozy layered tweeds in muted tones, shimmery metallic pencil skirts in looser silhouettes, and slick cropped pants sent out in leather, brocade, and jacquard versions. Marc Jacobs's Les Misérables-meets-Dickensian disco-meets Alice in Wonderland Mad Hatter tea party collection certainly highlighted the fact that fashion, at its core, is whatever you make of it . . . and yes, wildly fun.

Trends: rich textiles like brocade and jacquard, floppy hats, oversized outerwear, fur-accented accessories.
Colors: Muted jewel tones - green, purple, ruby red, pink, slate gray, and black.
Key Piece: Slightly oversized coats in luxe fabrics and cropped pants in every texture, from leather to brocade.
Accessories: Fabulously fantastical hats in every color, square-toed shoes with crystallized buckles, long opera-length gloves with finger cutouts, and large boxy totes, some covered in fur, some made in decadent ostrich skin textures.

Designers have been sticking to a more neutral palette for Winter but not Diane von Furstenberg and Yvan Mispelaere. Showing to a celebrity-filled crowd at Lincoln Center - we spotted Solange, Molly Sims, Coco Rocha, and Barbara Walters in the crowd - the duo filled the runway with gorgeous color combos in every jewel tone imaginable. The theme of the collection was "rendezvous," further explained in the show notes as "glamorous at a moment's notice." The outcome was sexy, effortless French-inspired dressing in the way of formfitting wool jersey dresses, wrap skirts, office-appropriate separates, and drapey asymmetric jumpsuits. A pink rendition of the latter, paired with an oversized dark burgundy coat, was one of the highlights of the collection. Whimsical prints - puzzle pieces, quotation marks, and keyholes, were splayed across an array of wrap skirts, oversized coats, and blouses, emoting a sense of mysterious quirk. True to the Rachel Zoe manifesto, her Fall '12 lineup delivered a unique mix of nostalgic and contemporary-cool pieces. Inspired by the rock 'n' roll glamour of 1960s London - think Mick Jagger and Marianne Faithfull - the collection boasted all the trademark elements of that oh-so-cool era. Knit minidresses, sequined gowns with updated twists, tailored menswear-inspired suits in jewel-toned velvets and tweeds, and an arsenal of must-have shaggy faux fur coats set the retro tone without ever seeming outdated. To top off these sweet rocker looks, the models also showed off something entirely new to the Zoe brand: chunky art-deco jewelry and cozy-chic Winter accessories. Translation? She's given us even more reason to accent our cold-weather attire with luxe snoods, statement collar necklaces, and bold fur cossacks. While the effortless feel of Rachel Zoe's collection may be rooted in old-school shapes and silhouettes, her execution proved that she's designing for a modern woman with a playful penchant for stylish throwbacks.

Jill Stuart's feminine interpretation of Fall was a botanical experience blooming with florals in all shapes and sizes. The show, attended by stylish celebs like Olivia Palermo and Nikki Reed, highlighted the designer's unapologetic feminine flair, with pretty party dresses - the floral dresses with the delicate lace detailing and Peter Pan-collared little black dresses were the highlights of the show - and luxe ladylike outerwear. Adding a modern effect were leather touches throughout; pencil skirts featured leather panels and coats were trimmed with thin leather piping. The latter showed an outstanding leather-trimmed navy coat paired with trousers, floral top, and fur collar. We can already see the front-row celeb attendees checking off their wish list . . . Charlotte Ronson showed off warm, gorgeous color on an urban-cool collection for Fall 2012. She delivers both sophistication and cool-girl edge in the same breath, working graphic print, slick leather, and a brilliant palette onto slim knits paired with menswear-inspired trousers. We get a little of the designer's après-ski influence on a fresh reinterpretation of Winter knits done in cool camel and yellow. But it's mostly Ronson's eye for balancing downtown street-chic with uptown polish we love; how she gives us both a sharpness and a sense of femininity that's entirely wearable.
