The Look For Less: Seven Denim Pin Up Jumper

This Seven Jeans Sweetheart Romper, $185, is a sassy little number. This would be really cute on the 4th of July or at a poolside party - but yes, you need to have subtle curves to pull this off. However, it is rather pin up girlie style, so I think it would look darling on a gal with womanly curves. All you need to top off the look is some lip gloss and wood-heeled wedges and you're ready to boogie. If that's too Three's Company for you, try a pair of fruit stripe flats!

If you are going to embark on a more risque look like a jumper, you may want to refrain from splurging. Try this Arden B Denim Halter Romper, $98, instead. I know it's not that much cheaper but it's damn similar. It doesn't have belt loops, but it is the same dark denim color. As for the cuffs, you want to show off your stems anyway right?

Look of the Day: Red Hot

High-waisted is in and Igottrouble is wearing it so well in her red hot outfit! I love the color of the skirt, as well as the length. I don't normally care for wife-beaters but it totally works here. While her little flats are adorable, another option is to dress up this look with a hot pair of wood-heeled wedges.

Dress You Up! Maxi Dresses

Ok so this first model in a serious maxi dress looks like a tree, but that is the effect the longest dress of all can help one achieve. I was actually just on a hunt for a maxi dress and ended up scoring an awesome black silk Corey Lynn Calter one. I wore it to Fashion Week Live last month. I gotta tell ya, I stood out (in a good way) amongst all the legs and got several compliments. My analysis: maxi dresses are the next 'It' dress. After all, the only way to go after the mini dress is down, way down. I wore mine with some exotic flats because I am tall; if you're on the shorter side, these look retro redone with a solid pair of wood-heeled wedges.

Trend Alert: Patchwork

There is such a thing as fashion folklore. Patchwork delivers a dose of old world craft. But I don't know if grandma could have made you these modern patchwork items. Paired with some wood-heeled wedges and oversized shades, you'll look like you've stepped off the Chloe Spring runway. Make sure not to go too retro overboard though - the idea is to dress for today, not the days of fashion yore.
