Anne Wears All Her Apparel In Venice

Anne Hathaway arrived at the Venice Film Festival on Tuesday to promote her movie Rachel Getting Married, a film I'm looking forward to for the chance to see Anne playing against her usual type. In Jonathan Demme's movie she plays Kym, a woman who has been in and out of rehab for ten years and returns home for her sister's wedding – and at Venice she showed off the shorter choppy hairstyle that she had cut for filming. Check out the trailer after the jump. Anne had also packed a fair few outfits in her suitcase, showing off four outfits in her first two days in Venice.

My favourite has to be the dramatic pale green dress she wore at the premiere of her film on Wednesday – it looks different from every angle, although FabUK and I are not sure if she's wearing the dress, or the dress is wearing her. Since I last updated you on the comings and goings in Venice, we also had another peek at Natalie Portman looking casual at the festival on Tuesday, as well as odd couple Evan Rachel Wood and Mickey Rourke, who are there to promote their movie The Wrestler.

Rachel's Getting Married But Anne Is Just Dating

Anne Hathaway posed pretty at the Venice Film Festival earlier today promoting her new movie Rachel Getting Married. Judging by the trailer, she plays a bit of a badass but in real life she's still nursing a broken heart not helped by an upcoming story in Vanity Fair that reveals how she called ex Rafaello Follieri the love of her life. Thankfully, it sounds like she's starting to move on. According to Life & Style, she was spotted getting cozy with hot Josh Lucas at the Democratic National Convention last week. At the very least it sounds like they have politics in common even if it's nothing more than friendly rebound flirting for Anne.

Shining Stars of the Venice Film Festival

There are stars and then there are shining stars. At the 2008 Venice Film Festival, a slew of actresses and models flew overseas to attend, but only a handful shined. There were plenty of arenas to flaunt their fashions - movie premieres, photocalls, parties - and the likes of Charlize Theron and Natalie Portman went all out. The screening of Valentino: The Last Emperor especially brought out a stylish crop. Enter the Venician red carpet.

Josh, Diane and Natalie's Labor Free Long Weekend in Venice

The Venice Film Festival rolled on over the Labor Day long weekend bringing out some of our favorite red carpet faces. Natalie Portman arrived solo showing off a new hairdo to accept a humanitarian award, premiere her directorial debut short film Eve and catch a few other red carpets. You don't see a lot of t-shirts and jeans around the glitzy festival, but Natalie pulled it off between gorgeous gowns. The excellent Josh Jackson and Diane Kruger posed at the Jaeger Le-Coultre Gala Dinner - from the look in his eyes, Diane's beauty wasn't lost on Josh. Thankfully last night she was on hand to make sure Josh was looking perfectly dapper since we know he appreciates her help. She's got even more to smile about these days, signing on to star alongside Brad Pitt and others in Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards. Lucky girl.

Director Natalie Debuts Eve In Venice

Natalie Portman unveiled her short film directorial debut Eve at the Venice Film Festival yesterday. The 17 minute short marks the first of two projects she has directed, including part of the collaborative movie New York, I Love You. When I met her back in February I was struck by her intelligence, and she looked stunning over the weekend when she picked up a humanitarian award, as well as working both casual and formal styles in Venice yesterday. Love It or Hate It? Natalie Portman

Actress Natalie Portman is working a youthful look at the Venice Film Festival, complete with glowing skin and fluffed up, candyfloss hair.

She's matched her eyeshadow with her navy blue dress, and although this look is not for everyone, the blue does seem to make her eyes look extra sparkly.

Josh, Diane, Charlize and Natalie's Sunny Weekend In Venice

It was a hectic weekend at Venice Film Festival, filled with events and screenings for the international attendees. Charlize Theron was spotted in three different outifts as she sped around promoting her movie The Burning Plain, a drama in which she plays Kim Basinger's daughter. Natalie Portman arrived in Italy over the weekend and was beaming as she picked up a humanity award at the Kineo Italian Movie Awards for her involvement in social and environmental programmes. BellaUK wants to know if you love or hate her look?

Finally, gorgeous Joshua Jackson took a break from promoting his new TV show Fringe in the States and flew over to be by Diane Kruger's side at the Jaeger dinner last night. It's just been announced that Diane has joined the star-studded cast of Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards. So she snares Joshua and now she's working with Brad Pitt yet again? Some girls have all the luck!

Even without Brad and George, the Venice Film Festival kept up the glitz, and last night the glamour got a little more gorgeous. It was a screening of Valentino: The Last Emperor that brought out all these gowns on the likes of Claire Danes on the arm of Hugh Dancy, Charlize Theron fresh from the DNC, stunning Elizabeth Hurley posing with Valentino, and Diane Kruger sadly without Josh Jackson. It's only right that a movie honoring the designer has such a marquee red carpet heating up the late Summer night in beautiful Italy.
