Lavender is such a pretty color; it's a wonder that more celebs don't wear it. Chloë Sevigny knows what's up. . . . she chose a lavender Narciso Rodriguez tie dress for the premiere of The Diving Bell and the Butterfly back in November. PYT Amanda Bynes wore the same dress to the 2008 Critics' Choice Awards last night. Both have a slick black clutch, but Chloë opted for messy hair and bright red lips.

Critics' Choice Awards: Brittany Snow

Brittany Snow's look at the 2008 Critics' Choice Awards is a tough one to judge. On one hand the vibrant turquoise of the Badgley Mischka dress really brings her eyes out, but on the other, the silhouette is a tad outdated. I do, however, like her earrings. Do you love it or hate it?

Critics Choose No Country and Juno

While the Golden Globes show is canceled this year, last night's Critics' Choice Awards brought out some A-Listers in LA. The stars all looked great on the red carpet and inside got down to honoring each other. The writers' strike was the topic of the night, but there were still some light hearted moments up on stage. Katie Holmes looked fabulous (in her toga) giving out an award while Angelina and Brad were ever the popular kids fielding visits at their table from Clooney/Queen Latifah and Casey Affleck. Javier really ran away with the show at the end up three times in a row to accept for himself, the Coens and the movie. He got in an anti-Bush jab, but his real acceptance speech was totally sweet. Critics' Choice Kicks Off Award Season

The Golden Globes may be canceled but not all award shows are affected. The 13th Annual Critics' Choice Awards kicked off the season and a-listers like George, Don, and Brad and Angie came out to walk the red carpet. Brad looks like even he is growing a strike beard which is another reason we should end this writers' strike quickly. The Hairspray and Juno casts were all smiles as well as Javier who would
win big that night. Seeing the stars dressed up so nicely makes us hope they still go big for the revised globes news telecast since it would be a shame to waste all those beautiful dresses that are already reserved. One lady who was definitely taking advantage of the red carpet glamour was Emily Deschanel. She really took it seriously - tell Bella do you love it or hate it?

Love It Or Hate It? Emily Deschanel Amplifies the Drama

Out of all the women at last night's Critics' Choice Awards, only one of them had the kind of high-drama look that stopped me in my tracks. Don't get me wrong, Angelina looked as gorgeous as ever with her signature look, and Queen Latifah looked regal. But Emily Deschanel was the one who tried something different. Everything about this look is strong: Her intense black liner and false lashes, the contoured cheeks, the not-a-hair-out-of-place updo. . . It's a bold take on glamour, no bones about it. Do you think she makes it work?

Christian Has Many Opportunities to Cheer on The Dark Knight

Christian Bale went incognito with his baseball hat and scruffy goatee while out and about LA on Monday. The third most profitable actor of the year has more blockbusters ahead, but these next few months are about looking back on 2008. The Dark Knight was recognized by the Producers Guild of America as a nominee for Best Picture and it's up for multiple awards at tonight's People's Choice Awards, tomorrow's Critics Choice Awards, not to mention Sunday's Golden Globes (don't forget to fill out a ballot now). Since a few of those ensemble acting nods include Mr. Bale, there's a good chance one of those red carpets is going to require a shave.

Kate Wears Black but Aims to Be Golden

Kate Winslet was looking sharp in her blazer as she walked around NYC earlier today. Kate won your vote for Best Dramatic Actress of 2008 over on Buzz, but we are curious to find out if she will be taking home a Golden Globe or two this weekend. Whether or not Kate is who you are rooting for, let us know all your predictions by filling out your ballot for a chance to win an Apple TV. She impressed Buzz with her performance in Revolutionary Road, so maybe maybe Kate will get a head start on adding to her trophy shelf at the Critics' Choice Awards tonight.

It's Nothing but Happiness For Kate and Len

Kate Beckinsale and Len Wiseman traveled with Lily from London to LA over the weekend and then hit the streets for some grocery shopping yesterday. Kate and Len always seem to make running errands look fun and romantic, but this Thursday they'll have to go a little more formal for the Critics Choice Awards where Kate is a Best Actress nominee for Nothing but the Truth. They may have missed our list of favorite couples of 2008, but they seem to be perfectly happy as No. 1 in each other's eyes.
