The Beckhams and Cruises spent some time in NYC over the weekend. How cute. While they all dressed their best, Victoria Beckham braved the cold in a slick all-black ensemble that instantly grabbed my attention. She stands out against the colorful street. She opted for skinny black jeans, a cozy black-tweed jacket, Christian Louboutin pumps, a Chanel bag, and oversized dVb shades. All black is always all powerful, especially when your colorful child is next to you for contrast.

In Japan, Olga walked the red carpet in a Chanel Couture Fall '06 gown. It's quite a complex dress made up of tulle, fish-like scales topped with sequins, a halter bodice, and asymmetrical bottom. She downplayed her olive corset mini dress with a cool cropped denim jacket and set her feet apart with leopard ankle-strap sandals. Finishing touches are a lucite bangle and a Chanel bag. Oh, and I'm loving her burnt orange lips. Chloe's done it again: Easy, breezy, yet dazzling.

I have nowhere to wear these gutsy concoctions, or the means to buy them, but if I did, I would indulge (and suffer). Platforms and unstable heels caused a couple crashes down the catwalks, though, so a flat backlash might be on the horizon. In the meantime, feast your eyes on Pilati's cold caged sandal for YSL and more fantasies . . .

Paris Fashion Week, Spring 2009: Chanel

What's black, white and fabulous all over? You know it. OK, throw in some pink, purple and gray and done. With an inspired Chanel building serving as the backdrop, Karl delivered a wonderfully diverse Spring collection — the spunky separates being my favorites. A sharp bolero jacket and a tailored bowed top and slim knit skirt are on my lust list.

With dramatic headdresses on top and feathered sandals on bottom, what was in between was modern day Chanel. Tweed suits, party frocks and knits were given fresh treatments via beading, bold cuts and a wonderful chain adornment fastened with a brooch. On the subject of all that glitters, the jewelry was maximized; flower cluster necklaces and deco medallions were stunning. Easing into evening, the silhouette is long and lean — can't argue with that. Nothing over the top here, simply laudable Lagerfeld artistry.

She's 10 years younger than me and she is sitting front row at Chanel. But it's OK, I am a Harry Potter fan and she looks Fab. Chanel is a fashion house for every generation and it's nice to see the younger generation wearing it accordingly. She opted for long leggings — this is how you wear them people — some stunning platform sandals, and a sporty but chic silver skirt and jacket set; all Chanel. Her satin Chanel clutch is mighty adorable, too. Her hair is slick and her jewelry is pared down; I spy a glittering ring atop the yummy clutch.

My favorite piece amongst this excellent example of layering is the jacket. I would wear that with just about everything to inject sporty nonchalance. Her bunched up sleeves makes it even more lax. So Emma, pray tell, how did you enjoy the show?

While her Issa of London noir gown doesn't reveal much, it exposes in all the right places. And here's a lesson in accessories. Take a classic dress, add a splash of color (Stella McCartney satin plum clutch) and pile on vintage jewelry, preferably Chanel vintage jewelry. I especially like how she layers the bracelets haphazardly. For added oomph, she wears the studded Steve Madden gladiators that are all the rage. Some high fashion, some low fashion, all fabulous.

Per usual, the Fall runways were awash with dark, moody, and jewel-tone colors. However, some designers went against the grain and embraced the icy-cold colors of Fall. Winter white, mellow gray, and arctic blue are intense, cool, and collected.

Narciso Rodriguez (left) was decidedly hyperbolic with this monochrome look — a sculptural white dress, blinding tights and banded shoes. It may be slushy and ugly outside, but being stylishly stark never looked so good.

2008 Fall Couture: Chanel

Karl Lagerfeld has psychic powers. He is a designer who perfectly balances the history of a house with the future of fashion . . . how does he do it? Yet again, he delivered the upper echelon of fashion what they want: modern tweeds, luxurious evening pieces, smart frocks, and delectable finishes. While models curved the runway in Anna Wintour-esque bobs, they stunned in the typical icey Chanel palette of black, white, and grey, with splashes of pink and beige. Fur trims and flashy buttons surely raced a few heartbeats; beading and feathers most likely induced style salivation.

I can do without some of the volume play — especially around the sensitive hip area. True, the women who actually wear couture maintain their figures (otherwise they have to pay full price for a garment), but who wants their hips to be accentuated? Shoulder love is another story. The fluffy knits showed volume restraint and were scrumptious. The boxy coats were too '80s for my taste. Some gowns were lavish, especially those decidedly disheveled with shredded fabric, and some were simply over-the-top. And, the frame-like headpieces supplied that extra dose of the Lagerfeld we all know and worship.

Still stunning after all these years, I love the curves of this dress and the futuristic seam play. The neckline is unique, and flattering, and who can resist a big Chanel bow front and center? The grey colorblocking continues on the sides and a subtle front slit. Attending the Vogue magazine 20th anniversary party, Claudia kept the flow going with grey sandals and a slightly metallic clutch. Jewelry and beauty was kept to a minimum; a delicate diamond bracelet and center parted straight hair. No frills, no fuss, just Chanel and Claudia.

Cutie Coco Rocha is featured in the latest Neiman Marcus catalog ads. The luxury department store's latest claim is, "Bold color may be the season's message, but pure white always looks right." I can't argue with that. Coco is seen biting Chanel, lying with pearls, and showing off watches. I admit that it's nice to see some neutrality amid all the bright colors calling our names this Spring, but will it make me buy? Not so sure. Unless of course, someone gives me a lump sum for the Chanel! What do you think?

Traffic school classes aren't going to stop Nicole Richie from busting out all her cutest outfits. This time around she opted for a loose-fitting M Missoni dress and gold gladiator sandals. On her arm is a gorgeous black Chanel bag (as of late, she's been ditching Balenciaga for Chanel, but I'm sure she'll be back to her signature in no time). Considering it's scorching in LA and she's attending traffic school, it's perfection.

The Chanel fun never ends. As well as catching up with Mad Men star January Jones I met cutie patootie Emma Roberts at the Chanel on Robertson party. She looked darling in a vibrant printed jersey dress, as well as 18K yellow gold hoop earrings and bracelet from the Fine Jewelry collection. Niece of mega star Julia, Emma was excited about her upcoming projects and a cheeky Chanel purse she spotted at the store. Here, she blabs with yours truly.

"I have a movie called Wild Child coming out at the end of the year, it’s a really fun teen movie, kinda Mean Girlsish. And in January I have Hotel for Dogs coming out, a family movie, yeah, it’s exciting. My dress is Chanel, of course, and I just saw it and loved it — it was the first one I tried on. And I never wear color! Chanel is classy, amazing and my favorite. I have a few Chanel items but my black Chanel handbag is my favorite. I really liked the British flag purse [here at the store] so hopefully I'll get that."

Emma was adorable, to say the least. We're looking forward to seeing more of her in the future!

I was amongst my people last night at the Chanel store opening party in LA, or so I like to think so. Chanel employees, Chanel lovers, Chanel aficionados, oh, and gorgeous actresses and models ching-chinged wearing the coveted label. It was a tough call but budding blonde and 27 Dresses star, Malin Ackerman won me over in her deep burgundy sparkly Chanel jumpsuit. Just when I thought I'd seen my fill of disco-era jumpsuits, this girl was hopping around the Chanel party in super style.

And that smile — amazing! She's like a cross between two other Fab favorites: Cameron Diaz and Kate Hudson. To top off the daring look, she chose an icey plastic Chanel clutch, black wooden platforms, and tiered diamond earrings and a cosmic cocktail ring by Chanel Fine Jewelry. She's got the look.
