Denim is a necessity, no matter the time of year. But with Summer in full effect, we should embrace a lighter weight denim, perhaps something with color, with pizzazz. I already recommended shoes, bags, bikinis, and jewels you need now, but what would your warm days be without some hot denim cutoffs, a clean jean jacket, a sweet denim romper, or a cool denim vest?

Considering Nicky Hilton consistently wore Matthew Williamson for H&M before it came out, I'm not surprised that she's the first celebrity to jump on the Gap CFDA Design Editions line. Girl knows her fashion. She recently went out in LA wearing Vena Cava's Khaki Zip Dress ($88).

Tonight is the 2009 CFDA awards — we can't wait to hear this year's winners. For those of us not in the fashion inner circle, we can have a piece of the awards via khakis; Gap's CFDA Design Edition Khakis hits stores and online tomorrow. The ads proved khakis can be fun.
On Our Radar: Stella McCartney Designs Childrenwear
Stella McCartney was one of the first designers to collaborate with the High Street when she launched her H&M line in 2005. Now the designer is doing it again as she prepares to create her first ever childrenswear collection for Gap. She usually only produces womenswear for her label, but with a growing brood of her own (she has three children with husband Alasdhair Willis) it's not surprising that she's decided to broaden her horizons.
Stella McCartney To Launch Children's Line at Gap!
Famed designer Stella McCartney will bring her clothing to the masses in a new partnership with Gap Inc. The mama of three — Miller, 4, Bailey, 2, and Beckett, 1 — is designing an affordable line of apparel, likely fitting of her own children, that will be sold at select babyGap and GapKids stores in the United States, Europe, Japan and Canada. We can't wait to get a sneak peek of her fashionable pint-sized duds, which will hit the racks later this year!
Suri Cruise Stops Fellow Shoppers With Her Fab Summer Style
Cutie Suri Cruise is getting to be quite the big girl and the mirror image of her mama, Katie Holmes. Tom's lovely ladies strolled around The Grove on Sunday dressed in their Summer best while indulging in some retail therapy and delicious treats. While mom looked classic and laid back in black, it was her darling daughter who stole the sunlight in an orange asymmetrical ruffle dress.

I was on the fence when I first peeped Gap's latest Design Editions team-up, but seeing its ad campaign has changed my outlook. Shot by Craig McDean, the shots feature models Raquel Zimmerman, Anna Jagodzinska, Arlenis Sosa, and Coco Rocha wearing khaki collaborations from Alexander Wang, Vena Cava's Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai, and Albertus Swanepoel. I love the fun, no-fuss fashion angle and the clothes — which retail between $40 - $88 — look cute and wearable.
