I've always wanted to meet the man behind my favorite Alexis Bittar jewels — I finally had the pleasure to do so at his recent Neiman Marcus trunk show. Alexis filled us in on what's going on in his world right now. He's one busy bee; his San Francisco stay was for a mere 10 hours because he had to fly to Vancouver for an appearance at Holt Renfrew.

It's raining baubles: Thakoon, Alice + Olivia, and Milly have announced expansions into jewelry.
Thakoon Panichgul has been swooped up by Japanese fine jewelry brand, Tasaki, to serve as its creative director. “My goal is to approach jewelry design in the same manner that I approach clothing: always move forward but respect the past,” said Panichgul.

Next to jump on the TV home shopping bandwagon are fine jewelry designers — with baubles retailing up to $5,000 — Robin Renzi from Me&Ro, and Stephen Dweck. Renzi has signed on with HSN to create an affordable collection of adornments, ranging from $30 to $100, called Robin by Me&Ro. The line debuts tomorrow, Tuesday Oct.

The first thing I thought when I saw Skinny is, what a great gift for my bauble-loving friends. Its pieces are affordable ($20 to $60) and colorful. The brand's website defines Skinny as knowledge, keen insight, on top of the in and out.

There's more reason to love jewelry extraordinaire Tom Binns now that he has branched into the world of leather goods — yay! Details are still under wraps, but we do know his luxe leather line will debut in the Spring and will include a white leather bag adorned with metal studs. It will come in three different sizes and be priced between $650 to $1,850.
